"An LA Adventure" has been named the theme of the 2006 Design Challenge, which is affiliated with the LA Auto Show's "Design LA," a conference for the automotive design community set to take place in January 2006. Designers are charged with designing vehicles that reflect one or more of the characteristics of living in LA, whether that be a lifestyle, sporting or cultural activities. Now in its second year, the Design Challenge enjoys support from a number of design houses out on the west coast, including Mercedes, BMW, Mazda, Toyota, General Motors and Ford. Last year's co-winners were the Dodge SuperBee and the Volkswagen Mobile Lounge.
