, GM's provider of in-vehicle safety, security and communications services, has just turned ten years old. (They grow up so fast, eh?) Every month the service averages 383,000 routed calls, 43,000 remote door unlocks, 23,000 roadside assistance calls, and 27,000 remote vehicle diagnostic checks. I've always gotten the impression that while successful, On-Star could be an even bigger hit if GM marketed it better. While it's a great service, I don't think I'd be willing to pay $16.95/month for it. How many of you have On-Star in your vehicle and have activated it? Has it ever come in handy for more than unlocking your doors? Have to admit though that the commercials for On-Star where real emergency calls made to the service are played are pretty impactful.
