Mercedes announces ML63 AMG

With 510 hp on tap from AMG's new 6.3-liter V8, the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG promises to be a rocket. Set to debut at the Frankfurt International Autoshow, the ML63 is classic AMG. The bespoke exterior treatments are there, including new aero and upgraded wheels. AMG also installed fender flares to enhance the low and wide stance of the ML63. The fender flares keep watch over the 19-inch wheels skinned with 295/45R tires. Behind those wheels, AMG has further tuned the Mercedes AIRMATIC suspension for performance. Those 510 horses find their way through the seven-speed automatic transmission to the ML63's permanent four-wheel drive. The system is set up to split the power between each set of drive wheels. Forty percent heads to the front wheels while sixty percent heads to the back. The Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG will accelerate from naught to sixty in less than 5 seconds. It is quite a package. You can expect that the ML63 will cost a pretty penny. For those of you concerned with fuel economy, look elsewhere for now. Mercedes seems to be planning a hybrid version of their ML, and we'll be on the look out for that. Otherwise, this is one quick SUV. We wonder when AMG will stuff that 6.3-liter into the R-class.
