By this time next week we should have pics of the Lotus Circuit Car we reported on a while back. The Circuit Car, the fastest Elise-based Lotus to date, will race on the final day of the Shelsley Walsh hillclimb, an English event that celebrates its centenary this year, which I guess is Brit-speak for "centennial". The car is designed to be for track use only and represents the ultimate expression of the Lotus "less is more" philosophy. The car weighs just 1,322 lbs and is powered by either a 189-hp Toyota four-cylinder or the Exige 240R's 243-hp supercharged engine. 0-100mph should take a scant nine seconds. Check back again next week for actual pics of this racer that so far has existed only in sketch-and-render form.
