Nikolai Smolenski, the young Russian billionaire who bought the beleaguered TVR motor company, has added the Italian motorbike manufacturer Benelli to his portfolio of wayward companies to be restored. PistonHeads is reporting that Smolenski is very excited about the acquisition, although it's unclear whether or not it was made by Smolenski himself or under the guise of TVR. Areas of the TVR factory, however, have already been cleared to make room for Benelli bits to be made. Benelli, which began in 1911, has seen its share of financial ups and downs, much like TVR had before the rubles began to flow from Smolenski's wallet. While TVR's resurrection is far from complete at least it's still around, a fact in which all the fans of Benelli bikes can now take comfort.
