One Michigan resident believes the state of the Detroit auto industry is in such bad shape that it needs divine intervention. Dr. Lanny Johnson's solution was to buy ad space on highway billboards around the state that read "Dear Gracious Heavenly Father, Forgive us our sin of being dependent upon the automobile industry and not on You. Please restore invention, productivity and prosperity." The billboards went up in mid-July and will remain for the next two months. While we're sure each of the Big 3 appreciate the prayer, they probably wish Dr. Johnson had spent all that money on a shiny new car instead.
