While the author of this article does use a bit of speculation to reach certain conclusions about Lamborghini's future plans for the Murcielago and Gallardo, he offers some interesting ideas about what the Italian automaker has cooking for its two super sports cars. The Gallardo may get a Track Special model, much like the Ferrari F360 Challenge Stradale, with beefier components and a possible power bump to 550-hp. The Murcielago, meanwhile, in addition to mild exterior styling tweaks, will finally abort its current V12 engine, the architecture of which has been in use since the Miura was introduced over 40 years ago. The alll-new engine will be a  6.5L V12 making 645 horsepower and 515 lb-ft of torque and possibly featuring variable-valve timing, five valves per cylinder and direct injection technology. The author expects these bulls to be updated sometime in mid 2006.
