His stage name is enough to hurt his credibility in my mind, however, Ben 'Cooter' Jones wants 'true blue' Dukes of Hazzard fans to skip the upcoming motion picture release. He believes the profanity and sexual content of the new movie ruin the image of the original television series. I will quote a section of his comments: "It's one thing to do whatever movie they want to do, but to take a classic family show and do that is like taking "I Love Lucy" and making her a crackhead or something." I am not entirely sure that this kind of analogue is appropriate. I would say that the new movie is more or less a reinterpretation of what the Dukes of Hazzard would be like today. Perhaps I am wrong, and I haven't seen anything more than the regular previews. Neither has Mr. 'Cooter' Jones, but it is a free country and he can say whatever he wants. The new movie is directed by Jay Chandrasekhar of Super Troopers and Club Dread fame. You could probably connect the dots there and figure out what the new movie will be like.
