Next week Jack Dex, a 13-year-old Brit, will attempt a world efficiency record in the BOC Ech2o eco-marathon vehicle. Attempting to achieve 10,000 miles per gallon, the car would theoretically be able to travel around the world on two gallons of gas. Wow. Two gallons can barely get me to work and back a couple of times. The car's top speed is 30 mph, which should be more than manageable for the young driver who was chosen because he's small, light and has driving experience as a junior TKM Kart driver.
