Ford recently arranged a focus group to compare the new midsize Fusion sedan to its direct competitors, the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. What did these Average Joes have to say? Well, the article quotes a gentleman who sums it up very nicely: "One juror thought it was too good to be a Ford." There's always bad news with the good, eh? To illustrate how important the Fusion is to Ford, the Detroit News also quotes internal Ford data that states the brand loses 10,000 Focus owners, 10,000 Mustang owners and 30,000 Taurus owners for lack of a competitive midsize alternative. Ford is hoping dearly that these people will return to the Blue Oval when the Fusion finally arrives.
