Rumors are flying around that Ford and GM are preparing cars to answer the success of Chrysler's 300C. Autospies was nice enough to bring this up, even though we probably all suspected that the Big 2 would have to do something. Details about GM's plans are sketchy, but rumors are that Ford is planning to leverage its new D2C RWD platform to create a RWD sedan. Perhaps Ford will produce something like the Ford 427 or Lincoln Continental Concepts. Both concepts were revealed around the same time, which could hint about a shared architecture. They also have similar proportions and the roof-lines look very much alike. It also just so happens that the Ford 427 is reported to be based on the Mustang's D2C platform. Regardless, the 2006 Detriot Show should reveal what GM and Ford has up their sleeves.
