The nature nuts in Nebraska have found another good use of a Honda Civic hybrid, bird watching. As a PR stunt, a local Honda dealer donated a 2005 Civic hybrid to a bird observatory that calls it the "best bird-watching car on the planet" to help with sales. Of course this only pertains to strong hybrids that shut down the gas engine when the car is slowed or stopped so there is no noise to scare the birds. Wouldn't it be nicer to bird watch from outside the car? And can we take a "prairie chicken tour"?
