That's what VW has said to a group of North Americans that were just trippin' for a new version of the Microbus to follow the New Beetle revival. After the Microbus concept made the rounds at the 2001 auto shows, VW assured that the retro van would be on U.S. shores by 2005. That changed to a van, but not as retro. Now it's for Europe's eyes only and based on the current T5 van. This story mentions the new Microbus and a "robust pickup truck" being built alongside the T5 in Germany. Should we also expect a pickup like their Advanced Activity Concept of 2000?
