San Francisco Yellow Cab has purchased ten 2005 Ford Escape Hybrids in another move to clean up the transit systems. Luxor Cab Company of San Francisco also has a fleet of five Escape Hybrid Taxis, which were placed in service earlier this year. Taxi cab drivers are turning in their Crown Vics for greener Escapes. A San Fran taxi driver says his fuel economy has gone from 12 to 14 mpg in the Vic to between 31 and 36 mpg in the Escape.
