GM announced that the Bonneville is officialy "retired" as of June '05 when the last car rolls off the assembly line. This comes as no surprise to most, as the Grand Prix kept growing in size and rumors of a rear-wheel drive "G8" sedan began to trickle in. The Bonneville enjoyed a small renaissance last year with the V-8 powered GXP model but no plans were made to update the car when its sister platform-mates (the Cadillac Deville and Buick LeSabre) become all new next year. Pictures and information on the 2006 Cadillac DTS and Buick Lucerne will be available here at Autoblog on Wednesday.
