It's still difficult for many of us to think of the terrible tragedy involving Top-Fueler Darrell Russell this year. Darrell was, without doubt, an All-Star who championed through the Division 4 Top-Alcohol Dragster class until reaching Top-Fuel in 2001 when he was awarded Rookie of the Year by the NHRA. Darrell had just locked up his second career No. 1 qualifying effort on June 26th at Gateway International Raceway when he was fatally injured as a result of a crash during eliminations the following day. However, in light of his death, Larry and Ally Dixon (along with the entire hot roddin' commonwealth) continue their rabid support of his legacy through the Darrell Russell Memorial Fund. For the next six days, the Fund will be offering more than seventy unique items that are being placed on the auction block through Ebay. All proceeds will be directly donated to Darrell's widow, Julie, in order to provide her care for the foreseeable future. Donations may also be made to: The Darrell Russell Memorial Fund, Partners Bank of Texas, P.O. Box 60369, Houston, TX 77205
