Every other season journalists get together to flog the latest and greatest from manufacturers with short test drives during one full day. In the spring there's often a race track involved, today there were only suburban roads to serve as real world test laps.
If you click on the picture above you'll get a hastily photoshopped image of what was available. Not pictured are the new Ford Mustang and Lotus Elise, clearly the most popular rides of the day as they never made it back to a parked position.
I'll start posting individual reports throughout the weekend as I compile my notes but one overall thought I was left with: Every new model was a vast improvement over what it replaces. The Acura RL, Mustang GT, Pontiac G6, Subaru Legacy GT, Land Rover LR3 and others all would make excellent buys and are light years beyond their predecessors.
