Shannon Buggs is a writer for the Houston Chronicle, a fine newspaper. In a recent column she asked for help in searching for the right car for her after her 1996 Honda Accord was in an accident. The car wasn't totaled, but the cost of replacing the airbags was so high the insurance company wrote the car off and gave her a check. Yikes. Anyway, she's now looking for something with decent size to haul kids and lots of stuff, presumably as big as the Accord or bigger. She wants a hybrid but can't afford to wait on the new Ford Escape. Right off the bat I thought the Ford Freestyle because it's one of those cool new cars that is a one size fits all solution, although the mileage isn't stellar. What do our readers think? Let's help Shannon out. Read her full story for more info on her shopping process.
