Although not designed to creep the living bejesus out of you, the new Audi SUV, their first ever, will sport the Q designation in 2006. According to an Audi chairman, "Q denotes a new type of family within our company, alongside A, S and RS," although he said zilch regarding what exactly the family will encompass. The only other Audi with a Q in its name is the RSQ, a concept sports car you may have seen in the Will Smith debacle "I, Robot"— although that also uses the RS labeling. Hmmmm. The Q7, sized between the 6 and 8 (duh), will use Audi's 4.2 liter V8 engine and ride on the same platform as the Touareg and Cayenne. The SUV is loosely based on a concept called Pikes Peak, introduced last year, and likely sounds a death knell for a Allroad, which I love. Damn you, Q7.
