The automotive media can pick apart how horrible the Saturn Ion is and that's their job. Just by saying how bad the little car is actually insures they'll have a job. But they're at least truthfully explaining how poor a vehicle it is and poor sales are a result of that. Now those poor sales translate to 3-400 job cuts at the famous Spring Hills, Tennessee plant. Check out this chart the Detroit News put together that shows how small car sales are fairing. The answer is not too good. The Cavalier, Ion and Jetta are just plummeting. Although I can't believe Chevy sold more than 120,000 Cavaliers last year.
