The tag on the cat is projected to read $35,000, which should have it competing with AWD wagons from Audi, BMW and Mercedes. Some have blamed the X-Type for Ford-izing the marque in terms of quality, and small sales numbers have inspired recent rebates in the $4,000-$7,000 range.
