Aston Martin's lately revealed AM V8 concept has already been spotted in a tarmac-going incarnation at the 'Ring. Set to rival the Porsche 911 in both power and price, the so-called DB5 is expected to account for up to 50 percent of all Aston Martin sales. The car is built on an aluminum platform, and will run on a 4.3 liter V8 supplying 370-hp. Figure on a competitive £60,000 tag, with a 500-hp supercharged R version also in development to challenge the 911 Turbo. The DB5 will offer the standard six-speed and SMG transmission choices and a hatchback design opening into a capacious trunk, which most Aston owners will call a "boot" regardless of their nationality.
