Volvo Spy Shots
Volvo is a Swedish brand of luxury vehicles founded in 1927 in Gothenburg, Sweden. It was owned by Ford Motor Company until being sold to Chinese automaker Geely in 2010. Volvo made a name for itself in the U.S. with its trademark boxy vehicle designs, bulletproof reliability and industry leading safety.

0Spy Shots: M3-fighting Volvo S60 Polestar spotted testing 1337980440
If news of a more powerful Volvo S60 sounds familiar, it's because we just reported on this subject earlier in the week. Now, though, a reader of the same Swedish site that initially broke the news has fired back with a set of spy photos, and we can clearly see that Volvo is indeed making improvements to the S60. As for what exactly those improvements ...

Spy Shots: Volvo XC40 spotted testing in Arizona 1336584480
A keen-eyed reader managed to snag a few photos of what looks to be the upcoming Volvo XC40 ahead of the vehicle's debut at the Paris Motor Show. Like most manufacturers, Volvo is keen to offer buyers the small crossovers they demand. With a taller ride height, more ground clearance and a more aggressive front fascia than the V40, the XC40 should do just ...

Breaking: Striking Viking: Volvo V40 slips out on Facebook ahead of Geneva 1329926160
Some automakers try their damnedest to keep their new products under wraps until they're good and ready to show it to the world. (And of those, some succeed more than others.) Others, meanwhile, steadily leak out photos and details – through official channels or back ones – to keep us hooked. We're not quite sure which approach Volvo meant to ...

Spy Shots: More images of Volvo V40 surface ahead of Geneva debut 1329415140
When the curtains rise on the Geneva Motor Show in a couple of weeks, so will Volvo lift the veil on a vital new product: the V40. Replacing the C30, S40 and V50, the new V40 is the Swedish automaker's assault on the Audi A3, BMW 1 Series, et al. We've had our glimpses at what to expect with a series of spy shots, a couple of teasers and a solitary rear ...

Are these the patent filings for Volvo's S-Class-fighting S100 flagship? 1328655660
There are luxury automakers, there are mainstream automakers, and then there are those in between. Volvo, we'd argue, is one of those marques that doesn't quite compete in the same market as, say, Mercedes-Benz or Lexus, but that looks as if it's about to change. The Swedish automaker has been toying for years with the idea of building a new flagship to ...

Spy Shots: Four-door Volvo C30 spotted... call it V30? 1318341420
Don't let this test vehicle's proportions deceive you – there's stretched Volvo C30 architecture under all of that cladding. Yes, Volvo is working on expanding its C30 range with the addition of this, the upcoming V30, set to rival the Audi A3 and recently redone BMW 1 Series hatchback in Europe. There's also a high-riding crossover variant, ...

Spy Shots: Volvo V60 spotted doing the cold weather thing 1266355860
We've just seen the 2011 Volvo S60 in all its production glory, and hot on the heels of that, we've got some snaps of the wagon version undergoing winter testing. Volvo's array of offerings have always included wagons. Safe, stolid Swedish Estates are a big part of what built the brand, and that's why the V50, V70 and XC70 are rockin' the two-box in ...

Spy Shots: Next-gen Volvo S60 caught completely uncovered 1252508220
The gestation period for a new Volvo model has always been rather languid. Back in the 1950s, when tailfins were making annual progress toward low earth orbit, Volvo was cranking out PV444 and 544s. Those cars spent a good part of a decade looking like 1940s Fords, and so it's gone with Volvo's models. The iconic 200 series was in production for nearly 20 ...

Spy Shots: Volvo XC60 out playin' in the snow 1201288020
Volvo is working hard to finish development on the production version of its XC60 CUV before it goes on sale later in 2008. We'll see the official unveiling in Geneva most likley, and the concept has certainly whetted our appetite. Aimed at the smaller end of the premium CUV market, the XC60 will take on comers like the BMW X3 and the upcoming Mercedes ...
