VW New Beetle

Despite all of the positive reviews it has garnered since its introduction in 2011, the Volkswagen Beetle still hasn't hooked me. It's nice to drive, and with a variety of engine choices (including diesel) and two different bodystyles, it's an incredibly versatile little car, ready to meet the…

Knit VW New Beetle Convertible is a real stitch

Well, now we've really seen everything. At the ninth Volkswagen Sunshine Tour, an annual gathering of thousands of Beetle lovers, the "most beautiful beach Beetle of the Year" award went to this New Beetle Convertible enrobed in 40 kilograms – that's about 88 pounds – of colorful, knitted wool. According to VW's press release, it took Marthe and Magnus Schwarz, who met at a previous Sunshine Tour (where else?), seven months to create their unique work of stitchery. As you can see in

You'd think there wouldn't be anything more outrageous for those guys to find seat time in. Yet they've managed to find yet

What company has the most recalled 2007 models?

BusinessWeek has trolled the NHTSA files to find out which automakers have had to recall their brand new 2007 models the most, and the winner is Volkswagen thanks to a recall of just over 1 milion 2007 New Beetles because of potentially faulty brake light switches. Of course, Ford announced a major recall of 3.6 million vehicles earlier this month for defective cruise control switches, but none of the vehicles affected were 2007 models and so don't count for this list.
