2010 Mitsubishi Outlander GT - Click above for high-res image gallery

Twin pack of bread, 36 bottles of water, 24 rolls of toilet tissue, a 64-oz. box of cereal and... a 2010 Mitsubishi Galant. That may sound a bit odd, but if you want certain 2009 and 2010 Mitsubishi models with zero percent financing or discounted lease pricing, you'll apparently have to head over to your local Sam's Club. Automotive News is reporting that the discount warehouse is offering special deals on select Mitsubishi models through its Auto Buying Program that could well be better than the offers you'll get at your Mitsubishi dealer. Eligible models for zero percent financing for 60 months include the 2009 Lancer, Eclipse and Outlander and the 2010 Galant and Endeavor. Discounted leases will also be available for the 2010 Lancer Sportback and the 2010 Outlander.

The Japanese automaker reportedly struck a deal with the retail giant to display some of its models at select stores. Mitsubishi Motors Credit America will supply the special financing, which will be reserved for Sam's Club customers with sufficient credit. The discount warehouse club will display the cars through February. With Sam's Club's 500 stores and over 40 million members, this could be a pretty good program for the struggling Mitsubishi, although we don't see it doing anything to combat the brand's discount perception.

[Source: Automotive News - subs req'd]
Mitsubishi launches big incentives through Sam's Club originally appeared on Autoblog on Wed, 09 Dec 2009 15:58:00 EST. Toyota dropped a major bombshell when it announced that it would offer zero-percent financing on 11 of its models, and did it again by extending that promotion through the end of November. BMW followed suit and has begun offering 0.9-percent financing on every single one of its vehicles, proving that higher-end luxury marques are not immune to the downturn in sales. Now, it's Infiniti's turn. As part of its year-end sales drive, Nissan's upmarket division will be offering no-interest financing on all remaining 2008 models for up to 36 months through Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp. The automaker surely hopes these incentives will spur sales, which were down about 30% last month when compared to last year. Time to go out and get yourself a deal on that new EX.

[Source: Reuters]
Infiniti offering 0% financing for 36 months on all '08 models originally appeared on Autoblog on Wed, 05 Nov 2008 19:23:00 EST. That's the good news. The bad? This announcement likely means that we'll all need to put up with the excruciatingly horrible "Saved by Zero" commercials that have been infecting our TV screens these last few weeks. *Shudder*

For the month of October, Toyota saw its average daily sales rate drop 24%. While that's surely not the direction in which the automaker would like to see its sales slide, that figure is dramatically better than that of General Motors, it's largest rival in the U.S., which posted declines of around 45%. It may be a shallow victory, but it's apparently enough that these financing deals will remain in effect on 11 models through all of November.

[Source: The Detroit News]
Saved by Zero? Last month, incentive-averse Toyota posted a drop in sales of over 30% compared to a year ago and the rest of the year isn't expected to look much better. General Motors, which still posted a decline in sales, fared better than most of its rivals, including Toyota, thanks to aggressive incentives including its employee pricing for everyone.

Toyota itself is calling the move to offer 0% financing "unprecedented," and indeed it is. Historically, the Japanese automaker has not needed to offer such sweeping deals to move its metal. It apparently has the cars, the means to finance them and just needs buyers. If you want in on the deal, it's available until November 3. See the full press release from Toyota for more details after the break.

[Source: Toyota]
Continue reading The end is nigh: Toyota announces 0% financing on 11 models

The end is nigh: Toyota announces 0% financing on 11 models originally appeared on Autoblog on Fri, 03 Oct 2008 15:58:00 EST. Ford is no exception, and as of today, those willing to drive away in a new Blue Oval offering can benefit from zero-percent financing on all new 2007 models. Want to buy a pickup or SUV? Ford will cut you a check for $2,007 in addition to the no interest financing for 36 months. No doubt the General is keen on putting up positive numbers for the month to compliment the other bits of good news that have signaled its turnaround may have turned the corner. The new incentives start today and include 0% financing for 36 months and reduced-rate financing for up to 72 months, in addition to an extra $1,000 rebate that can also be used by the customer. The vehicles eligible for the new incentives, which will last through April 3rd, include the usual suspects, as well as the new 2007 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra, which is a bit of a surprise. The automaker no doubt senses an opportunity to hit its main rival, the Ford F-150, where it hurts. Considering the current F-150 is now an older model than the new GMT900 trucks from GM, as well as the new Toyota Tundra, its position as King of the Hill in the truck country is in serious jeopardy this year.

[Source: Automotive News]
March Madness: GM brings back 0% financing and cash rebates originally appeared on Autoblog on Thu, 15 Mar 2007 14:03:00 EST. The limited-time offer runs from June 29 through July 5.

GM's sales for the summer of 2006 are bound to suffer in comparison to the huge numbers posted during 2005's "employee-pricing" discount sale, but even the beginning of the year has been slow, with sales for the first five months of 2006 down 8 percent year-over-year.

[Source: Reuters]

U.S. auto sales will fall in 2006 originally appeared on Autoblog on Tue, 27 Jun 2006 17:01:00 EST. FoMoCo has launched a nationwide "Drive on Us" sales incentive program, offering not only zero percent financing but free gas for the rest of the year for new vehicles purchased between today and July 31.

With every sale, customers get a pre-paid MasterCard debit card to buy up to $1,000 of gas, E-85 or diesel. (Thirstier trucks and SUVs get $1,100 in fuel credits) Customers can choose to get cash or a deduction from the purchase price of the vehicle.

In addition, some models get a price reduction ("customer cash" in Ford-speak) of an additional $1,000 to $4,000. The $4,000 deduction is reserved for the slow-selling Expedition (along with zero percent financing up to 72 months!), and there are some good deals on trucks, with the F-150 getting a $2,500 price break and the Super Duty knocked down $2,000.

[Source: Ford]
Ford announces "Drive On Us" free gas program originally appeared on Autoblog on Fri, 02 Jun 2006 11:05:00 EST.
