So it comes as a special bit of parenthetical news that the hit British BBC show has now become available directly on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Season 10, 11 and 12 are now available on the Microsoft content site, with each 570MB episode costing 160 points (equivalent to $2).

Unfortunately, some edits have been made to the downloadable installments, with licensing concerns forcing them to replace some of the music, and while the 12th season episodes remain in their full 60-minute glory, seasons 10 and 11 have had their episodes trimmed down to 50 minutes (give or take), usually at the expense of the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car segment and the news (which isn't newsworthy anymore anyway...that's what we're here for). Check it out on the Xbox Live Marketplace for all the details.

[Source: Xbox Live Marketplace via FinalGear.com]
Top Gear episodes now available on Xbox Live Marketplace originally appeared on Autoblog on Thu, 04 Jun 2009 08:58:00 EST.
Sega's OutRun Online Arcade - Click above to watch video after the jump

With many worried that government regulations will soon strangle the concept of having fun in an actual car, it's convenient that game makers are developing more ways to have fun with virtual cars. SEGA is updating that old arcade classic OutRun with the latest in automaker metal, and the new game will arrive as OutRun Online Arcade on XBox Live Arcade and the Euro-version PlayStation Network.

Up to six players can play three different modes on 15 U.S. tracks while driving any of ten Ferraris, which is a much better selection than the original's only option: a Ferrari Testarossa convertible. Imagine Formula D in a Dino or Enzo and you're pretty close. But even Formula D doesn't offer you this: "If you impress your girlfriend enough in Heart Attack Mode, you will receive special requests." Okay... For U.S. customers, the game will be out June 30th on XBox Live Arcade, but for now you can check out gameplay video of this updated oldie after the jump.

[Source: Joystiq]
Continue reading VIDEO: Sega's classic OutRun returning on XBox Live

VIDEO: Sega's classic OutRun returning on XBox Live originally appeared on Autoblog on Tue, 24 Mar 2009 19:57:00 EST. While the release date for the 360's premier driving game is not until May 29th, early this morning at 5AM EST, publishers of the game released its first demo on the Xbox Live Marketplace for free. Yes, we've downloaded it and yes, we've played it. The demo offers you an assortment of about 24 cars in three different classes (think slow, fast and insane). We tried out a Ford GT in the fast class and a Maserati MC12 in the insane class. You're only able to race around one short track, which Forza faithful tell us is the Mugello short. How does it look? Probably great if it weren't for the 5-year-old, 27-inch TV our Xbox 360 is hooked up to. On a high-definition set it probably looks incredible, but on an old TV it looks like Gran Turismo 4, maybe a little sharper and more detailed, but not by much. 480 lines of interlaced resolution only go so far. Nevertheless, the choice of vehicles and tracks in the final version of the game will be impressive. Now we just have to scrounge up another $59.99 plus tax for another Xbox 360 game. Yeah, we can think of a few people who that's not going to go over too well with, but epic driving games on next-gen consoles don't come along every day.

Thanks for the tip, Matt!

[Source: Xbox360Fanboy]
Forza Motorsports 2 demo now available for free on XBLM originally appeared on Autoblog on Thu, 10 May 2007 13:01:00 EST.
