<br />
There is nothing to hate about the gobs of torque available in the diesel-powered <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/bmw/x5/">BMW X5 xDrive35d</a>, but the fact that the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/nhtsa/">National Highway Traffic Safety Administration</a> has announced a recall for broken idler pulley bolts might be a bad example of the engine's strength. In addition to the recall, <em>InsideLine</em> is also reporting that <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/bmw/">BMW</a> has issued stop-sale for all vehicles still in dealer inventory.<br />
<br />
On the 29,800 diesel X5 models affected by the recall, the idler pulley bolt could back out and/or break, which would cause a loss of power steering. To repair the problem, BMW will begin notifying owners next month, and dealers will replace the bolts. For owners of the 2009 X5 xDrive35d, this comes a little more than a year after <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2011/08/31/bmw-recalling-2-120-diesel-x5-models/">2,120 models were recalled for a faulty fuel pre-heater</a>.<br />
<br />
The official NHTSA recall notice is posted <a href="/2012/12/06/2009-2012-x5-xdrive35d-recalled-for-problematic-pulley/#continued">below</a>.<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2012/12/08/2009-2012-x5-xdrive35d-recalled-for-problematic-pulley/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>2009-2012 X5 xDrive35d recalled for problematic pulley</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2012/12/08/2009-2012-x5-xdrive35d-recalled-for-problematic-pulley/">2009-2012 X5 xDrive35d recalled for problematic pulley</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 08 Dec 2012 09:00:00 EST.
