As Ford continues its cheerleading effort to help bring the 2014 Summer X Games to its hometown of Detroit, MI, it has released footage of its 2014 Fiesta ST Rallycross car on location at some of the city's well-known landmarks. This video appears to have been shot around the same time as the previous X Games Detroit video was made, but it focuses 100-percent on rally car action.
Recently, ESPN announced the finalists for cities eligible to host the 2014 Summer X Games, with Detroit, MI – my hometown and current place of residence – making the list. And despite the naysayers that give my city a really bad rap (quite literally, actually, since I'm sure many of you have heard about how it's "So Cold" here), there's good reason for Detroit to host the annual competition. It's the end of an era. The Summer X Games have been held in and around downtown Los Angeles for more than 10 years, but the summer of 2013 will be the last appearance for the foreseeable future of the X Games in The City of Angels. For those keeping track, the X Games first took place in Rhode Island, followed by San Diego and San Francisco and then finally Philadelphia before finding a semi-permanent home in LA.
