Auto Shows</a></p>If you're the type who disappears on the weekend only to spend your first hour of work on Monday morning going through all the posts you missed on Autoblog, well, then you missed a lot this past weekend. In addition to our extensive coverage of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/PebbleBeach/">Pebble Beach</a> Concours d'Elegance and all the events that occurred in Monterey, we also took you to Detroit for the 2008 <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/WoodwardDreamCruise/">Woodward Dream Cruise</a>. Below you'll find a comprehensive yet easy to navigate group of our posts and galleries from the Dream Cruise. Be warned, it may take longer than usual to absorb everything you missed this weekend, but it's absolutely worth it. Below you'll find booth tours for each of the Detroit Three, and there's lots more <span style="font-weight: bold;">after the jump</span>. Enjoy and we'll see you next year on Woodward Ave.<br /><br /><strong><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-gm-at-athens-coney-island/980519/"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" align="absmiddle" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/wdc-08-gm-athens-1280-34_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" /></a>GM Booth Tour - <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/16/woodward-2008-general-motors-booth-tour-athens-coney-island/">Post</a> | <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-gm-at-athens-coney-island/980519/">Gallery</a><br /></strong><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-ford-booth-tour/"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" align="absmiddle" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/033_fordcruise_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" /></a><strong>Ford Booth Tour - <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/16/woodward-2008-ford-booth-tour-at-9-mile/">Post</a> | <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/16/woodward-2008-ford-booth-tour-at-9-mile/">Gallery</a></strong><br /><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-chrysler-booth-at-13-mile-1/"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" align="absmiddle" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/woodward-chrysler03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" /></a><strong>Chrysler Booth Tour - <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/16/woodward-2008-chrysler-booth-tour-at-13-mile/">Post</a> | <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-chrysler-booth-at-13-mile-1/">Gallery</a></strong><strong><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/16/woodward-2008-ford-booth-tour-at-9-mile/"></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-gm-at-athens-coney-island/980519/"></a></strong><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/18/wooward-2008-monday-morning-recap/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Woodward 2008: Monday morning recap</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/18/wooward-2008-monday-morning-recap/">Woodward 2008: Monday morning recap</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 18 Aug 2008 08:54:00 EST. There were a couple of honorable mentions but nothing quite as extreme as this example. The S10 with the 30-degree starboard list might have been in the running had it demonstrated the ability to this sort of dog-next-to-a-fire-hydrant maneuver, but it was rather pedestrian by comparison. Plus, this one is all sparkly-shiny! I suppose if you're going to add this much bling to your car's normally unseen undercarriage, just <em>have </em>to show it off.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-misuse-of-hydraulics/low/">Woodward 2008: Misuse of hydraulics</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-misuse-of-hydraulics/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/wdc-08-hydraulics-1280-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-misuse-of-hydraulics/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/wdc-08-hydraulics-1280-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-misuse-of-hydraulics/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/wdc-08-hydraulics-1280-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-misuse-of-hydraulics/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/wdc-08-hydraulics-1280-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-misuse-of-hydraulics/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/wdc-08-hydraulics-1280-5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/17/woodward-2008-and-the-award-for-hydraulics-overload-goes-to/">Woodward 2008: And the award for hydraulics overload goes to...</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sun, 17 Aug 2008 16:07:00 EST. Starting with a classic old-school vehicle platform, adding power and lowering it to the ground, the Hot Rod ethos still manages to attract its fair share of gawkers, including those of us wielding cameras. Take a look at the gallery we assembled below for the coolest 'rods and customs we could find.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-hot-rods/low/">Woodward 2008: Hot Rods</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-hot-rods/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/woodward_hotrods_15_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-hot-rods/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/woodward_hotrods_11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-hot-rods/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/woodward_hotrods_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-hot-rods/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/woodward_hotrods_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-hot-rods/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/woodward_hotrods_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/17/woodward-2008-hankering-for-hot-rods/">Woodward 2008: Hankering for Hot Rods?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sun, 17 Aug 2008 10:34:00 EST. Starting with humble mid-size coupe origins, the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-musclecars/981427/">Pontiac GTO</a> ignited a trend that is just now starting to come back in style after decades of gathering dust in the corner. Advanced Automotives' Heldo is a steel tube space frame concept with composite bodywork and a 350-horsepower <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-advanced-heldo-concept/981138/">32V Cadillac Northstar</a> engine. According to the Advance Automotive website, the rear engine Heldo can reach 60 mph in a mere 4.1 seconds, take 12.2 seconds to hit a quarter mile, and pull north of 1g on the skid pad. We have no way of verifying those lofty performance statistics, but we can tell you that it looks very cool in silver. Some of our favorite features are the gull-wingish doors, crazy thin <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-advanced-heldo-concept/981140/">LED tail lights</a>, and the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-advanced-heldo-concept/981136/">exposed carbon fibe</a>r hood, but the crazy <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-advanced-heldo-concept/981146/">aqua duct side pods</a> may have to go. Will we ever see a production Heldo on public roads? No, but we wouldn't mind if we did. Click on the high resolution gallery below to see the Heldo in all its odd glory.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-advanced-heldo-concept/low/">Woodward 2008: Advanced Heldo Concept</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-advanced-heldo-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/haldo1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-advanced-heldo-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/advanced-heldo01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-advanced-heldo-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/advanced-heldo02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-advanced-heldo-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/advanced-heldo03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-advanced-heldo-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/advanced-heldo04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/16/woodward-2008-advance-automotives-heldo/">Woodward 2008: Advance Automotive's Heldo</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 16 Aug 2008 19:28:00 EST. In between all the exotics, classics and modern muscle, we dodged (and occasionally stopped) traffic to grab a pretty good representation of what was out there, whether they be <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-motorcycles/981296/">scooters</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-motorcycles/981314/">choppers</a> or <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-motorcycles/981283/">trikes</a>... plus some things that <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-motorcycles/981279/">defy classification</a> altogether. It's the ultimate "run what you brung" event. Hundreds of thousands of people sit along the edge of the road and watch everything from bikes to trucks go by and the juxtaposition can be fascinating. Seeing a giant yellow high riding pickup truck with the front end of a Chevy Kodiak bearing down on a custom vinyl wrapped Smart is definitely an interesting sight. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-smart-vs-really-big-truck/low/">Woodward 2008: Smart vs Really big truck!</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-smart-vs-really-big-truck/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/smart-v-truck-1280-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-smart-vs-really-big-truck/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/smart-v-truck-1280-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-smart-vs-really-big-truck/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/smart-v-truck-1280-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-smart-vs-really-big-truck/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/smart-v-truck-1280-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-smart-vs-really-big-truck/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/smart-v-truck-1280-5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/16/woodward-2008-watch-your-step-you-might-squash-someone/">Woodward 2008: Watch your step, you might squash someone!</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 16 Aug 2008 16:02:00 EST. These machines that have been fixed up and heavily modified from their original specifications fit right in in this environment. Such is the case with this MINI. It certainly sounded meaner than any MINI I've heard and as it passed by I realized why. Apparently the old British lump under the hood had been replaced by something a wee bit more modern, in this case a Honda VTEC engine. We don't have any deets, but the car is for sale so if you're interested it might be worth a call.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-mini-v-tec/low/">Woodward 2008: MINI V-Tec</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-mini-v-tec/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/mini-vtec-1280-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-mini-v-tec/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/mini-vtec-1280-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-mini-v-tec/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/mini-vtec-1280-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-mini-v-tec/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/mini-vtec-1280-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-mini-v-tec/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/mini-vtec-1280-5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/16/woodward-2008-its-not-a-concours-original-mini-v-tec/">Woodward 2008: It's not a concours original, MINI VTEC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 16 Aug 2008 15:37:00 EST. The Pentastar filled up the massive mall parking lot at 13 mile and Woodward with dozens of classic rides from the '60s, '70s, and today. Among the best examples of Motown Metal were old-school Chrysler 300s, a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-chrysler-booth-at-13-mile-1/980903/">brilliant orange</a> Dodge Charger equipped with the Super Bird wing, and quite a few <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-chrysler-booth-at-13-mile-1/980856/">vintage Challengers</a>. For some reason the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-chrysler-booth-at-13-mile-1/980873/">Nassau concept</a> from the 2007 Detroit Auto Show keeps creeping up at all Chrysler events, and it made it's way to Woodward, too. Chrysler also had plenty of chances for Mopar fans to kick back and have some fun, including a massive<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-chrysler-booth-at-13-mile-1/980890/"> slot car track</a>, a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-chrysler-booth-at-13-mile-1/980895/">rock climbing wall</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-chrysler-booth-at-13-mile-1/980887/">Rock Band</a>. And when we say 9 Mile, we mean the whole street. Ford's display is literally on the road and stretches for blocks and blocks east of Woodward. The heart of it is <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-ford-booth-tour/980837/">Mustang Alley</a>, at the entrance of which are <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-ford-booth-tour/980813/">three Ford GTs</a> of varying color and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-ford-booth-tour/980809/">two racing Mustangs</a> turned on their sides so their undercarriages can be inspected up close. Enter Mustang Alley and you'll travel back in time as you stroll down the street. First are the late model pony cars followed by the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-ford-booth-tour/980822/">'90s, '80s and older</a>. Here is where you can also find booths for <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-ford-booth-tour/980791/">SVT</a>, Ford Racing, Shelby and ROUSH, as well. Ford only occupies about half a block on the other side of Woodward where a pair of 2009 Ford F-150s flank the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-ford-booth-tour/980788/">Blue Thunder Monster truck</a>. Oh, and behind that is a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-ford-booth-tour/980820/">motorized bull</a>, because nothing says "Ford" like a motorized bull.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-ford-booth-tour/low/">Woodward 2008: Ford Booth Tour</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-ford-booth-tour/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/000_fordcruise_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-ford-booth-tour/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/001_fordcruise_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-ford-booth-tour/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/002_fordcruise_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-ford-booth-tour/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/053_fordcruise_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-ford-booth-tour/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/054_fordcruise_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/16/woodward-2008-ford-booth-tour-at-9-mile/">Woodward 2008: Ford Booth Tour at 9 Mile</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 16 Aug 2008 14:37:00 EST. Trolling along right in front of a golden Lamborghini Murcielago was a <a href="http://www.gibbstech.co.uk/aquada.php">Gibbs Aquada</a>. For those who haven't been paying attention the Aquada is the latest attempt at an amphibious car. Gibbs recently set up shop in Auburn Hills MI as they try to get this land and sea machine into production. In the meantime when this driver gets to the end of Woodward Ave, he can keep right on driving on into the Detroit River and cruise on.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-gibbs-aquada/low/">Woodward 2008: Gibbs Aquada</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-gibbs-aquada/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/wdc-08-gibbs-aquada-1280-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-gibbs-aquada/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/wdc-08-gibbs-aquada-1280-5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-gibbs-aquada/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/wdc-08-gibbs-aquada-1280-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-gibbs-aquada/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/wdc-08-gibbs-aquada-1280-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-gibbs-aquada/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/wdc-08-gibbs-aquada-1280-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/16/woodward-2008-cruising-woodward-in-the-gibbs-aquada/">Woodward 2008: Cruising Woodward in the Gibbs Aquada</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 16 Aug 2008 13:30:00 EST. The parking lot this year is again filled with classic, wannabe classic, and future classic GM machinery, much of it brought out from the GM Heritage Center in nearby Sterling Heights. For those who haven't yet seen the new Camaro in production form, the red RS we saw a few weeks ago is on display here in the parking lot along with a ZR1 in police markings and what must be one of the most yellow first generation Camaros anywhere. The powertrain tent at the back of the lot is filled with past present and future powertrains from the Z11 427 to the two-mode hybrid and even a fuel cell stack. The parking lot area is open to the public all day, so come on down. If you can't make it, check the gallery below. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-gm-at-athens-coney-island/low/">Woodward 2008: GM at Athens Coney Island</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-gm-at-athens-coney-island/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/wdc-08-gm-athens-1280-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-gm-at-athens-coney-island/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/wdc-08-gm-athens-1280-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-gm-at-athens-coney-island/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/wdc-08-gm-athens-1280-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-gm-at-athens-coney-island/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/wdc-08-gm-athens-1280-04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-gm-at-athens-coney-island/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/wdc-08-gm-athens-1280-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-gm-engines/low/">Woodward 2008: GM engines</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-gm-engines/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/wdc-08-gm-athens-engines-1280-14_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-gm-engines/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/wdc-08-gm-athens-engines-1280-11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-gm-engines/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/wdc-08-gm-athens-engines-1280-5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-gm-engines/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/wdc-08-gm-athens-engines-1280-16_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-gm-engines/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/wdc-08-gm-athens-engines-1280-12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/16/woodward-2008-general-motors-booth-tour-athens-coney-island/">Woodward 2008: General Motors Booth Tour Athens Coney Island</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 16 Aug 2008 11:45:00 EST. The famed Woodward Ave. will swell under the weight of thousands of classics, exotics, muscle cars, custom jobs and some of the weirdest things on four wheels you will ever see on public roads. <br /> <br />We'll of course show you the displays of GM, Ford, and Chrysler that are guaranteed to contain the best gems from each automaker's past as well as their hottest products on sale today. We'll also keep our cameras at the ready for every cool car on Woodward that idles by at 2 mph. So stay tuned tomorrow, Saturday, August 16th to experience the 2008 Woodward Dream Cruise from the comfort of your computer chair. You can also subscribe to our <a href="http://feed//www.autoblog.com/tag/woodward/rss.xml">Woodward '08 RSS feed</a> to ensure you don't miss a thing.<br /> <br /> Oh, and one more thing - we will be <strong>live streaming a view of Woodward Ave.</strong> again this year. That's right - you don't have to come Detroit, we'll bring Detroit to you. Stay tuned for more details. In the meantime, check out some of our favorite past galleries from Woodward after the jump.<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/15/2008-woodwards-dream-cruise-autoblog-has-arrived/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>2008 Woodward Dream Cruise: Autoblog has arrived</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/15/2008-woodwards-dream-cruise-autoblog-has-arrived/">2008 Woodward Dream Cruise: Autoblog has arrived</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 15 Aug 2008 19:15:00 EST. Although its final destination is this year's Burning Man out in the Southwestern desert, the <a href="http://www.autobloggreen.com/2008/07/25/nextcruise-green-event-will-run-alongside-woodward-dream-cruise/">NextCruise event</a>, a green-minded cruising alternative running alongside the Dream Cruise, has brought the machine out to play a bit early. Looking over the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-preview-the-dogsled/">build pictures</a>, this pedal-powered machine looks like a scaled-down monster truck with its fully-triangulated frame made from steel and its solid axles front and rear. The frame is suspended both by transverse leaf-springs mounted above the axles and coil-overs at each corner. All four riders pedal to power the right rear wheel with the left rear seeing braking duties. Good 'ole-fashioned American ingenuity at its best. We'll see if we can track this thing down while it's stuck in traffic on Woodward Ave. Saturday afternoon. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-preview-the-dogsled/low/">Woodward 2008 Preview: The Dogsled</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-preview-the-dogsled/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/the_dogsled_quad_16_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-preview-the-dogsled/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/the_dogsled_quad_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-preview-the-dogsled/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/the_dogsled_quad_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-preview-the-dogsled/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/the_dogsled_quad_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/woodward-2008-preview-the-dogsled/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/the_dogsled_quad_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.thirstybeachlandscaping.com/quadbike/index.html">The Dogsled</a> via <a href="http://jalopnik.com/400352/people+powered-quadcycle-makes-stop-at-woodward-on-way-to-burning-man">Jalopnik</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/15/the-dogsled-pedal-powered-quad-debuts-at-woodward/">The Dogsled pedal-powered quad debuts at Woodward</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 15 Aug 2008 09:26:00 EST.
