<div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for high-res gallery of the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />The <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/02/first-drive-2009-cadillac-cts-v/">Cadillac CTS-V</a> has already proven that its impressive power stats translate nicely to the track with sub-8 minute 'Ring times and a 0-60 time of 3.9 seconds. The General is also positioning its new 556-hp halo sedan as a performance bargain, having announced today that it will go on sale around November 1 with a starting price of just $59,995. That's more than $40,000 cheaper than the less powerful XLR-V, and we'd argue the CTS-V is more attractive with its v2.0 Art and Science styling and works much better as a daily driver with its back seat and usable trunk. The CTS-V also makes the larger <a href="http://autos.aol.com/cars-Cadillac-STS_V-2009/overview">$80,900 STS-V sedan</a> completely irrelevant considering its 86-hp power advantage, improved aesthetics and quicker moves. Even the <a href="http://autos.aol.com/cars-BMW-M5-2009/overview">vaunted BMW M5</a> with its higher starting price of $83,900 and less powerful 500-hp 5.0L V10 engine can't touch the CTS-V in price or performance. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/detroit-2008-2009-cadillac-cts-v/low/">2009 Cadillac CTS-V</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/detroit-2008-2009-cadillac-cts-v/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/05/ctsv_greenhell1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/detroit-2008-2009-cadillac-cts-v/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/x09ca_ct001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/detroit-2008-2009-cadillac-cts-v/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/x09ca_ct002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/detroit-2008-2009-cadillac-cts-v/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/x09ca_ct003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/detroit-2008-2009-cadillac-cts-v/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/x09ca_ct004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: GM]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/17/cadillac-prices-2009-cts-v-from-59-995/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Cadillac prices 2009 CTS-V from $59,995</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/17/cadillac-prices-2009-cts-v-from-59-995/">Cadillac prices 2009 CTS-V from $59,995</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 17 Oct 2008 10:29:00 EST. Well, now we can see the rest of it. XLR.net has gotten hold of several more shots of the halo Caddy in both the standard Platinum trim and in rodded-up V-Series form (above). We were most curious to see the updated interior, but one look is all it takes to see that it's fundamentally unchanged. The gauges simply trade their <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-cadillac-xlr-v/638015/">rounder, Bulgari-designed numerals</a> for a look that's in keeping with what you'll find in other Caddys. The steering wheel is also switched out, and the XLR gets the same unit you'll find in the current CTS. Everything else? It's pretty much the same -- nice, but not done up to the level of the less expensive CTS. For that, we'll have to wait for the next XLR, assuming there is a next XLR. <br /><br />We already covered the new grille for the base car in our <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/06/2009-cadillac-xlr-refreshed-coming-in-july/">earlier post</a>, as well as the new side vents. The V-Series, however, retains the mesh look in front, as expected. Out back, the XLR Platinum gets a pair of cartoonishly-wide exhaust outlets that appear to be part of the rear bumper cover. The V soldiers on with its Vette-like quad pipes. The XLR is a nice car that turns heads, and the V-Series absolutely hauls ass and sounds great doing it. But $100K (for the V) is a <em>lot </em>to ask for any Cadillac, especially one that still hosts an interior that, while attractive, doesn't meet the high design standard set by the entry-level CTS. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-cadillac-xlr/low/">2009 Cadillac XLR and XLR-V</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-cadillac-xlr/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/06/000_09xlrandv_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-cadillac-xlr/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/06/001_09xlrandv_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-cadillac-xlr/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/06/002_09xlrandv_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-cadillac-xlr/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/06/003_09xlrandv_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-cadillac-xlr/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/06/004_09xlrandv_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://xlr-net.com/forums/showthread.php?s=f466040e9c09a01d1f3604bcca69fc79&amp;threadid=2559">XLR Net</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/09/pics-aplenty-2009-cadillac-xlr-and-xlr-v/">Pics Aplenty: 2009 Cadillac XLR and XLR-V</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 09 Jun 2008 16:27:00 EST. The range has been winnowed down to the Platinum and the supercharged V-Series. Look for the V-Series hood on all models and revised front and rear fascias with unique grillework for each trim level. The Platinum (above) wears the CTS egg-crate look, while the $100K V-Series presumably soldiers on with the mesh visage that is the V signature. New fender vents have been added, and a number of tweaks have been made to the cars' interiors, including Alcantara headliners, new instrumentation (say good-bye to the Bulgari-designed gauges), and a leather cut-and-sew treatment on the instrument panel. Drivers will also now get Bluetooth connectivity with the car's OnStar package. Look for the new XLRs to hit showrooms in July. Whether you see many on your local streets is another matter; XLRs are a bit of a rarity in most neighborhoods.<br /><br />[Source: Cadillac]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/06/2009-cadillac-xlr-refreshed-coming-in-july/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>2009 Cadillac XLR refreshed, coming in July</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/06/2009-cadillac-xlr-refreshed-coming-in-july/">2009 Cadillac XLR refreshed, coming in July</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 06 Jun 2008 09:57:00 EST. While we wait (impatiently) for the Pontiac G8 to start rolling off transport ships originating from the island continent sometime next year, the new VE Commodore is now entering fleet duty as a police interceptor. Holden released a trio of shots showing full-dress VE Commodore SSes ready for duty on the undoubtedly long stretches of road running through the Outback in Australia's Northern Territory. There were only 22,000 SRXs sold in 2006, which equals about one-fifth of Lexus RX350 sales. Disappointing sales and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2005/04/04/new-cadillac-srx-gets-delayed/">pushed back</a> updates fed speculation that the vehicle could even be phased out. </p>
<p>However, looking at this mule leaves evidence that there may be more SRX in our future. The large mesh air-intakes up front replace the lower light assembly found on the '07 model and the addition of V-Series brakes and wheels look darn cool on pretty much anything. There are some sweetly-revised tail lights and the headlights look tweaked as well, while somebody over at Cadillac has a sense of humor, as the SRX is sporting a set of Buick Lucerne portholes at the A-pillar. The holes <em>could</em> be helping to increase air-flow for a bigger, badder engine. We can only hope, but we doubt they're meant for production. An earlier <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/01/29/in-the-autoblog-garage-2007-cadillac-srx/">Autoblog review</a> of the SRX was very favorable, and we're hoping to see more SRX Caddy's in the near future.</p>

<p><strong>NOTE: </strong>The rest of the Autoblog team has weighed in, and we're 90% certain this is a mule for the high-performance SRX-V. <br /></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/20/spy-shots-new-srx-spied-v-series-or-refresh/">Spy Shots: New SRX spied, V-series or refresh?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 20 Feb 2007 08:53:00 EST. The entry-level and uber-popular sedan will receive a thorough exterior tweaking, as seen <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/04/04/bob-lutz-teases-tv-audience-with-cadillac-concept/">during the 60 Minutes spot back in April</a>. The revised look of the CTS will foretell the future of Cadillac designs, just as the current generation had; however, little information has been made available about what will be beneath the new CTS' sheetmetal. Rumors of a 3.6-liter V6 producing somewhere in the 280-300 HP realm have been heard and the forthcoming V-series model is expected to make around 400+ HP, when it debuts, likely sometime in 2009.<br /><br />The press release (posted after the jump) states that the CTS will come to market in late 2007 as a 2008 model.<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/11/08/2008-cadillac-cts-to-debut-at-detroit-auto-show/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>2008 Cadillac CTS to debut at Detroit Auto Show</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/11/08/2008-cadillac-cts-to-debut-at-detroit-auto-show/">2008 Cadillac CTS to debut at Detroit Auto Show</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 08 Nov 2006 16:01:00 EST.
