<br />Reiter Engineering used last weekend's 24 Hours of Spa race to reveal its Murcielago LP670 R-SV, a GT1 race-ready version of the already hardened LP 670-4 SV. The box-stock Lambo already shed 220 pounds compared to its non SV brethren, weighing in at 3,451 pounds. The Reiter racer, stripped of any non-essentials and with a body rendered entirely in carbon fiber, drops further 921 pounds to weigh in at just 2,530 pounds (1,150 kg). <br /><br />Reiter is hoping the car will be one of the six allowable brands chosen for next year's FIA GT World Championship. You can read the press release on the taurean missile after the jump, and check out the gallery of high-res photos below.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/reiter-engineering-lp670-r-sv/low/">Reiter Engineering LP670 R-SV</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/reiter-engineering-lp670-r-sv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/01_reiter_lp670sv_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/reiter-engineering-lp670-r-sv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/03_reiter_lp670sv_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/reiter-engineering-lp670-r-sv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/05_reiter_lp670sv_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/reiter-engineering-lp670-r-sv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/07_reiter_lp670sv_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/reiter-engineering-lp670-r-sv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/09_reiter_lp670sv_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.reiter-engineering.com/raceteam/raceteam.html">Reiter Engineering</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/27/reiter-engineering-unveils-lamborghini-murcielago-lp670-r-sv-at/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Reiter Engineering unveils Lamborghini Murcielago LP670 R-SV at Spa</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/27/reiter-engineering-unveils-lamborghini-murcielago-lp670-r-sv-at/">Reiter Engineering unveils Lamborghini Murcielago LP670 R-SV at Spa</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 27 Jul 2009 11:00:00 EST. But if that minivan is the 2010 Honda Stream, you can still satisfy your sporty urges thanks to Mugen. The practically in-house tuner has developed a full line of interior, exterior, aero, performance, handling and cosmetic parts for the people mover -- from typical Mugen mods like spoilers and wheels to a performance air filter and TypeT touring brake pads. If you add the sport suspension to your minivan, well, maybe you really do need to get a different car.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-mugen-honda-stream/low/">2010 Mugen Honda Stream</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-mugen-honda-stream/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/01_mugen_stream_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-mugen-honda-stream/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/02_mugen_stream_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-mugen-honda-stream/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/03_mugen_stream_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-mugen-honda-stream/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/04_mugen_stream_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-mugen-honda-stream/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/05_mugen_stream_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source:<a href="http://www.mugen-power.com/street/stream/"> Mugen</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/28/unlikely-state-of-tune-mugen-takes-on-the-honda-stream/">Unlikely State Of Tune: Mugen takes on the Honda Stream</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sun, 28 Jun 2009 20:07:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Mugen Honda Civic Type-R hatch - Click above for high-res image gallery</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />Honda's Euro-market Civic Type R hatchback has been called out for being a successor that hasn't exactly succeeded. Seems a bit of the thrill is gone from the new car compared to the old one. Enter tuning firm Mugen, whose modifications to the Type R hatch should make it even better than it once was.<br /><br />Not much is known about the changes in store. However, based on changes made for <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/12/rumormill-mugen-planning-two-seat-rr-based-civic-type-r-hatchba">Mugen's Japan-spec Civic Type RR</a> 4-door sedan, these pictures, and the fact that this car might take on the Renault R26.R, you can expect much: upgraded suspension and 18-inch wheels, giant front splitter and rear wing, huge exhaust, and a powerplant putting out 237 bhp and 160 lb-ft.<br /><br />If the pictures don't lie, however, it looks like the bigger Brembo brakes might not appear, and the back seats will remain in place. You can check out the details for yourself in the high-res gallery below. <span style="font-style: italic;">Thanks to Ryan for the video</span><br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mugen-civic-type-r-hatch/low/">Mugen Civic Type R Hatch</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mugen-civic-type-r-hatch/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/03_mugen_civic_type-r_hatch_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mugen-civic-type-r-hatch/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/02_mugen_civic_type-r_hatch_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mugen-civic-type-r-hatch/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/01_mugen_civic_type-r_hatch_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.4wheelsnews.com/euro-spec-mugen-honda-civic-type-r-hatchback-photos-emerge-on-the-web/">4 Wheels News</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/20/mugen-civic-type-r-hatchback-restores-former-glory/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Mugen Civic Type R hatchback restores former glory [w/VIDEO]</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/20/mugen-civic-type-r-hatchback-restores-former-glory/">Mugen Civic Type R hatchback restores former glory [w/VIDEO]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 20 Jun 2009 16:39:00 EST. <br />As Nissan <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/12/nissan-cancels-rwd-silvia-successor-and-gt-r-sedan-prius-fight/">cancels</a> its Silvia replacement, and the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/03/call-us-when-its-at-the-dealer-on-again-off-again-toyota-suba/">Toyobaru saga</a> stumbles along, Hyundai actually <em>has</em> a hot product on the pavement ready to scoop up import tuners jonesing for a rear-drive plaything. The Genesis Coupe is just arriving in U.S. dealerships, but in Korea, the car's been on the streets a while already. As such, drivers there have been hard at work modding and personalizing their rides, giving us an idea of what to expect when they start hitting the streets in earnest on this side of the Pacific. <div align="center"><em><strong>Click the image above for more pics of MyCar's CS500</strong></em><br /></div>
<br />Saudi tuner shops get different requests than the mod-masters in the US. While we may ask for bodyside moldings and a little something under the hood, the Saudis are just as likely to electroplate a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/23/gold-fingers-mercedes-c63-spotted-in-where-else-dubai/">precious metal</a> onto their luxury rides. Since luxury vehicles seem to grow on trees in the world's oil capitol, tuner MyCar is challenged with differentiating these high-end vehicles to make them stand out in a crowd. <br /><br />This time, MyCar went as far as creating an all new Mercedes, the CS500. It's basically a gold S550 with the front end of a CL550, but MyCar thought it unique enough to give it its own name; the CS500. As you can see from the photo above, the CS500 looks good enough to trick the untrained eye into believing it's an all-new vehicle. Actually, the CL550 front end actually makes the S550 look a bit more stylish, if you ask us. Maybe someone in Stuttgart should take note. <em>Thanks for the tip, Hisham!</em><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mercedes-cs500/low/">Mercedes CS500</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mercedes-cs500/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/21643_11235173884_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mercedes-cs500/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/21643_11235173790_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mercedes-cs500/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/21643_01235173884_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mercedes-cs500/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/21643_01235173790_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mercedes-cs500/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/21643_11235173974_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.gulf4cars.com/vb/t27225.html">Gulf4Cars</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/22/mercedes-math-s550-cl550-cs500/">Mercedes Math: S550 + CL550 = CS500? </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sun, 22 Feb 2009 15:02:00 EST. Outside, there won't be much happening -- nor necessary -- beyond Alpina's new front lip, rear wing and trademark wheels. Inside, Alpina might have some minor cluster mods in store, but we wouldn't expect too much change there, either. As with <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/07/2007-chicago-auto-show-bmw-alpina-b7-an-m7-in-all-but-name/">the 2007 B7</a> and its 500 hp and 4.8-second 0-60 time, we figure the engine and suspension will be heavily redressed on this next version. Alpina could opt for the centrifugal supercharger routine again, but whatever they do will surely put healthy distance between the B7 and the 400 hp of the donor car's 4.4-liter V8. The B7 might also get BMW's rumored 8-speed transmission. It will definitely get a stratospheric price tag.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.nextautos.com/alpina-releases-teaser-sketch-next-generation-b7-sedan">Next Autos</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/22/alpina-teases-with-sketch-of-next-b7-sedan/">Alpina teases with sketch of next B7 sedan</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 22 Dec 2008 14:01:00 EST. Fifty cars will be made, each featuring a number of details already seen on the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/04/sema-2008-hurst-hemi-challenger/">Hurst Hemi Challenger</a>, including the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-hurst-hemi-challenger/1138314/">Hurst pistol-grip shifter</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-hurst-hemi-challenger/1138310/">Hurst wheels</a>. The interior will be stitched up by Katzkin leather, and sound effects will come via a Corsa exhaust. As for colors, you will be offered the usual two: black with gold stripes, and white with gold stripes.<br /><br />The car you see peeking through in the picture above is a 1-of-a-kind that will go under the gavel at next month's Barret-Jackson auction. That one is matte gold with matte black racing stripe and black chrome wheels. But we have a feeling that if you don't get the car at Barrett and you really want one just like it, Hurst will be happy to exchange some of your green for some of their gold. Check out the press release after the jump, and the well-heeled among you should make your reservations for Scottsdale now.<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/16/hurst-performance-announces-50th-anniversary-viper/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Hurst Performance announces 50th Anniversary Viper</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/16/hurst-performance-announces-50th-anniversary-viper/">Hurst Performance announces 50th Anniversary Viper</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 16 Dec 2008 17:02:00 EST. <br />If you were <em>this close </em>to purchasing an SLR but recent events concerning a guy named Lehman severely reduced your amount of disposable cash, then allow us to introduce you to the SL Carbonite. For the price of a 2003-2008 Mercedes SL, plus $47,400 for Carbonite's hood, fenders, front and rear fascias, lowered suspension and Mandrus 20-inch wheels, you can have an SL(R) for a song that's a lot less pricey than the Mercedes-McLaren. Carbonite has also said it will only build 20 of these cars per year, which means your money could get you even more exclusivity than the real thing. Of course, what your money can't do is erase the fact that you don't actually have the real thing -- but that hasn't stopped so many others... <br />The 996 Porsche Turbo is old news, but that didn't stop Theory Communication and Design and iForged Wheels from whipping up a version that makes us quiver slightly, even though it's green. Artisan stuffed 650 horses under that rear wing with its turbo upgrade package, and the TechArt GT Street wide body rear kit has a beautiful carbon diffuser and ample ports for viewing the intercoolers. The car's speed is held in check by yellow Brembo calipers restrained behind iForged wheels, and your own speed will be held in check by the 5-point harness on the Porsche-logoed Sparco seats. <br /> The <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/03/in-the-autoblog-garage-2009-volkswagen-tiguan-s/">Volkswagen Tiguan</a>, already a hot little CUV, added some bodywork and an APR turbo to go with its <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/05/sema-2008-volkswagen-super-cc-performance-concept/">Super CC</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/05/sema-2008-volkswagen-jetta-tdi-cup-edition-street-concept/">Jetta TDI Cup Edition Street Concept</a> show car siblings, and then threw in a Rockford Fosgate system to raise the bar further. The little big guy wears fender flares connected by side steps and contrasting rocker panels. Inside is a two-tone leather job with some very attractive speaker enclosures in the doors. Under the hood goes APR's 3-stage turbo to boost output to 295 hp and 300 lb-ft. And out back: a 1,400-watt Rockford Fosgate system with dual 10-inchers taking up the rear floor. And as we learned at the press conference, you can play a guitar through the amp. Of course, you can't store anything back there, but this is SEMA, not a PTA meeting. Read all about it in the press release after the jump, and check out the gallery of high-res photos below.<br /> <br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-vw-tiguan-performance-concept/low/">SEMA 2008: VW Tiguan Performance Concept</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-vw-tiguan-performance-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/01_vw_tig_perf_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-vw-tiguan-performance-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/02_vw_tig_perf_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-vw-tiguan-performance-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/03_vw_tig_perf_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-vw-tiguan-performance-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/04_vw_tig_perf_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-vw-tiguan-performance-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/05_vw_tig_perf_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/06/sema-2008-vw-tiguan-performance-concept-rocks-the-strike-house/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>SEMA 2008: VW Tiguan Performance Concept rocks the <strike>house</strike> CUV</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/06/sema-2008-vw-tiguan-performance-concept-rocks-the-strike-house/">SEMA 2008: VW Tiguan Performance Concept rocks the <strike>house</strike> CUV</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 06 Nov 2008 12:57:00 EST. <br />The only time you'd normally put a Ford Transit Connect van together with <a href="http://www.piloti.com/">Piloti racing shoes</a> is if the van in question were delivering them, or there were a 1-make van racing series... which sounds kind of cool now that we think about it. <br />If Drake, the ur-vampire from <em>Blade Trinity</em>, were a car, this is the car he would be. Starting with a CL600, tuning firm Kicherer didn't waste time throwing pieces at the car's already aggressive styling. Instead, Kicherer attacked the CL's jugular: sloppy performance due to the car's portliness. <br /><br />The biturbo V12 gets 53 extra horses to corral 570 in total, torque gets smacked up to 664 lb-ft., the engine gets a new transmission control module to better deal with the extra juice, and out back, the rear axle gets a locking rear differential. The car is lowered an inch, and firmer springs help keep things settled when it's go time. Will all this turn the car into a cheetah? Probably not, but with the carbon goodies added throughout and the 20-inch Kircherer RS-1 wheels, it <em>will </em>look mighty good doing whatever it does. You can see for yourself in the gallery below.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/kicherer-cl60/low/">Kicherer CL60</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/kicherer-cl60/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/kich_cl60_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/kicherer-cl60/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/kich_cl60_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/kicherer-cl60/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/kich_cl60_07_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/kicherer-cl60/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/kich_cl60_08_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/kicherer-cl60/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/kich_cl60_10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=133306#4">Inside Line</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/12/m-b-cl600-kicherer-monumentally-badass-cl60/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>M-B CL600 + Kicherer = Monumentally Badass CL60</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/12/m-b-cl600-kicherer-monumentally-badass-cl60/">M-B CL600 + Kicherer = Monumentally Badass CL60</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sun, 12 Oct 2008 16:08:00 EST. <br />Every time we see a Flex on the road, it looks cartoonish to us - those two massive rectangles sitting on cute little wheels. We wouldn't be surprised if, a la <span style="font-style: italic;">CARS</span>, a Flex started talking to us. The "ReFlex" above, designed by Sean Smith of SS Designs and being prepared by CGS Motorsports for this year's SEMA Show in Las Vegas, looks like it could have something interesting to say. Who knew that a minimal body kit, a drop, and a set of 22s could give the Flex that personality it's been missing. The custom DuPont-painted CUV is also getting a suede interior, a Kicker sound system, and even new door solenoids from SPAL. We'll take it, or at least a ride in it. Check out the full press release after the jump, and stay tuned for the full report from SEMA.<br /><br />[Source: CGS]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/09/sema-preview-cgs-reflex/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>SEMA Preview: CGS ReFlex</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/09/sema-preview-cgs-reflex/">SEMA Preview: CGS ReFlex</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 09 Oct 2008 17:30:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above to enlarge</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />There are six modded Genesis' planned for SEMA: three coupes, three sedans. The coupes have been worked over by <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/24/sema-preview-street-concepts-hyundai-genesis-coupe/">Street Concepts</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/03/sema-preview-hks-hyundai-genesis-coupe/">HKS</a>, and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/30/sema-preview-rhys-millen-and-hyundai-team-up-on-genesis-coupe/">Rhys Millen</a>. A rendering of the first tricked-out Genesis sedan from RKSport has rumbled onto the page, and it looks less like competition for the 5 Series than it does a challenger to the Death Star. The Platinum Silver sedan will wear carbon fiber accessories and a couple of spoilers as it hunkers on its oversized TSW wheels.<br /><br />RKSport's take on this car is to raise the performance stakes, and it's going to have Hyundai's help doing it. The whipped cream on the sunday will be a K&amp;N air intake, Magnaflow exhaust, Eibach springs, Baer brakes, and a body kit. The sunday itself consists of performance upgrades that Hyundai is giving to the car's Tau V8 engine. The Korean automaker is hush-hush on those changes, but they're probably good for a bump in the numbers in all the right places. And since you can't drive the cars at SEMA, they'll probably look and sound pretty good, too.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://wot.motortrend.com/6295288/tuners/tau-wow-hyundai-genesis-sedan-getting-rksport-makeover-upgraded-v-8-for-sema/index.html">Motor Trend</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/08/sema-preview-rksport-doing-up-genesis-sedan/">SEMA Preview: RKSport doing up Genesis sedan</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 08 Oct 2008 15:30:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for high-res pic of the SSE F-150 Lariat</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />Custom truck lovers, it doesn't matter that the whole world might seem to be against you, you will not be forgotten at this year's SEMA. Performance West will be bringing a hotted up <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/30/sema-preview-performance-west-goes-smaller-with-f-150-striker-r/">F-150</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/20/sema-preview-performance-west-group-ford-f-350-striker/">F-350</a>, and now Street Scene Equipment rumbles onto the stage with it's own entrant, a juiced up <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/06/ford-moves-its-f150-launch-back-up/">2009 F-150</a> Lariat.<br /><br />The SSE job appears to be a little more subdued than the Performance West numbers, but that might just be down to the lack of racing stripes. The Lariat will of course be dropped, because you can't even call it a tuning job if the truck is more than an inch above the ground. After that, the exterior gets new front and rear bumpers and skirts, new mirrors, a bed cap, a tailgate wing, and some of DuPont 's Hot Hues to make it all shiny, among other things.<br /><br />Inside will be the standard rolling theater treatment: headrest video monitors and a "high-end infotainment system" from Audio Innovations. In keeping with the restrained theme, engine mods looks to be limited to an Air Raid intake and a new exhaust. Subtle ain't such a bad thing, though -- we gotta admit we're digging that grille.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.pickuptrucks.com/html/autoshows/sema2008/ford/street-scene-equipment-f150.html">PickupTrucks.com</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/07/sema-preview-street-scene-equipment-f-150/">SEMA Preview: Street Scene Equipment F-150</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 07 Oct 2008 14:59:00 EST. Performance West Group appears to have bought up the entire surplus and injected it into a Ford F-350 dually in order to create the Striker. Part pickup and part Ford Mustang GT500KR, the Striker will be intimidating other vehicles at this year's SEMA show in Las Vegas.<br /><br />The greatest tuning minds of our generation are assisting PWG with the project. Gale Banks is tuning the PowerStroke V8 engine above its 350 hp and 650 lb-ft. Hulst Customs is fabricating the bodywork. American Lightweight will be providing the aluminum 24" wheels. Katzkin Leather and Sony are doing duty inside to make sure you enjoy what will surely be a monster system in beauteous comfort.<br /><br />PWG will then drape the entire thing in Striker Silver and Badass Blue and then probably let it loose to kill things. The rationalist in us wants to ask "What the...?" The auto junkie in us wants to stick it in the driveway and let it reek of testosterone. And then transform into a Decepticon. Which means we can't wait for SEMA.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.pickuptrucks.com/html/autoshows/sema2008/ford/performance-west-group-ford-f350-striker-sema-preview.html">PickupTrucks.com</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/20/sema-preview-performance-west-group-ford-f-350-striker/">SEMA Preview: Performance West Group Ford F-350 Striker</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 20 Sep 2008 09:02:00 EST. For those of you lucky enough to own a GT-R and not content with its performance out of the box, the $995 AccessPort will reflash the ECU to any one of six different tuning levels.<br /><br />There are three levels each for Stage 1 and Stage 2. Stage 1 can get you up to 63 additional ponies and 70 lb.-ft. of additional twist, while Stage 2 can boost the numbers by 70 and 90 respectively. The AccessPort can also save your stock ECU data and reflash it when you decide you're finished with all that extra gumption. According to <a href="http://www.nagtroc.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=24251&amp;st=0&amp;gopid=347804&amp;#entry347804">a GT-R owner who tried it out</a>, you can be blowing past all those regular GT-Rs in less than an hour.<br /><br />And that's not all: you can store multiple engine mapping programs, remove trouble codes, install reduced-power valet and economy modes, and update maps over the Internet. It seems like a ridiculously easy proposition for making your supercar that much more super. So if you got one of those GT-Rs that are <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/20/lies-damn-lies-and-hp-ratings-i-candd-i-dynos-five-nissan-gt/">a little low on horses</a>, this could be just the ticket.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.bespokeventures.com/blog/?p=1154">Bespoke Ventures</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/21/cobb-tuning-gives-the-gt-r-a-serious-bump-in-power/">Cobb Tuning gives the GT-R a serious bump in power</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 21 Aug 2008 16:27:00 EST. And with hi-po vehicles like the IS F, ZR1, and GT-R on their way to buyers' garages, John Hennessey says he is working on packages to make all of those cars even higher-po. <br /> <br /> The IS F looks to be the first in line, with the experiment subject arriving at Hennessey's shop next week. The car will be a test bed for "headers, exhaust and air induction systems first. Then maybe a blower." He's also got his eye on the baddest boy Corvette ZR1, for which his website advertises "700+ HP coming soon!" The physics-defying GT-R is in the crosshairs as well, and if he can make it better than it already is, that would be among the best testaments for his services.<br /> <br /> Coming down just a notch -- but still up there -- the Cadillac CTS-V and Camaro will get their chances for glory as well. While all of this sounds great, what we really hope is that none of this extra work causes Hennessey not to give us the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/12/03/more-views-of-the-hennessey-venom-gt/">Venom</a>. That's the package we are truly dying to see.<br /> <br /> [Source: <a href="http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=125561">Inside Line</a>]<br /><em></em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/12/hennessey-performance-expanding-tuning-to-include-zr-1-gt-r-and/">Hennessey performance expanding tuning to include ZR1, GT-R and IS F</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 12 Apr 2008 20:01:00 EST.
