Look, we aren't expecting Transformers 4 to be the next Citizen Kane or Casablanca. All we're expecting is lots of explosions, some vague attempts at acting and an excuse to stuff our faces with some buttery popcorn in a cool theater on a hot summer day. Judging by this new, full-length trailer released on Michael Bay's YouTube page, we're pretty sure we're going to get just that – and we're going to get a bunch of neat cars and trucks.
Despite the replacement of the entire human cast (including Tyrese Gibson and Josh Duhamel), we think the ladies might still find some eye candy in the upcoming installment of the Michael Bay Transformers franchise. According to the director's website, Mark Wahlberg will join the cinematic battle between the Autobots and Decepticons. Does this mean Marky Mark will drive everyone's favorite movie Camaro, Bumblebee, now?
For all the talk of heavyweight star power, in all but the most extreme cases, it is directors that have the most power on the set, not the celebrities. That's apparently how it happens that Michael Bay has removed Megan Fox from Transformers 3, who is said to have insulted Bay at almost every chance she got, calling him Hitler, Napoleon, a "nightmare to work for," and "hopelessly awkward." Actually, that last comment she meant to be a compliment.
Well, there goes 20 bucks. On October 16, Transformers arrives on DVD, and multiple versions will hit retailers simultaneously. In addition to the single-disc release, a two-disc, extras-laden Special Edition and an even more special 2-disc HD-DVD Special Edition will go on sale.
Yes, I am looking forward to the live-action Transformers movie. I too was a child of the '80s, watched all the shows and had all the toys. My brother and I must have watched the cartoon movie a hundred times at home. Am I worried about the new movie? Will Michael Bay mess with a good thing? Maybe, but I am definitely going to see it on opening day anyway. Perhaps even the midnight showing, depending on who I can get to go with me.
