<br />Without any actual product to reveal today at the 2009 <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/Chicago-Auto-Show/">Chicago Auto Show</a>, General Motors spent its time on the soap box making sure its heavy investment in <em>Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen</em> pays off. As we've shown you, GM revealed the Corvette Centennial Concept that will play Sideswipe, as well as Jolt the Volt, Skids the Beat and Mudflap the Trax. During the press conference, GM also displayed new footage of the entire AUTOBOTS crew, old and new, out rolling in vehicle form. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/video-gm-releases-rolling-footage-of-transformers/">Follow the jump</a> to view this never-before-seen footage and marvel at the power of a two-hour informercial directed by Michael Bay.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-gm-transformers-cars/low/">Chicago 2009: GM Transformers cars LIVE</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-gm-transformers-cars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/p1000383_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-gm-transformers-cars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/p1000547_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-gm-transformers-cars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/p1000503_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-gm-transformers-cars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/p1000522_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-gm-transformers-cars/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/p1000532_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/video-gm-shows-never-before-seen-footage-of-transformers/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIDEO: GM shows never-before-seen footage of Transformers</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/video-gm-shows-never-before-seen-footage-of-transformers/">VIDEO: GM shows never-before-seen footage of Transformers</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 11 Feb 2009 14:58:00 EST. <br />It's hard to tell what's going on in this first trailer for the upcoming <em>Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen</em> sequel that will air tonight during the Super Bowl, but there are more psychotic Decepticons amped up for a rematch, lots of Autobots getting their mechanical asses kicked, and anything that can be blown up gets blown up. It's everything you'd expect in Michael Bay film... plus Megan Fox. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/01/video-transformers-revenge-of-the-fallen-trailer/">Follow the jump</a> to watch the first official trailer for TROF, and check out some high-res screen captures of the action in the gallery below. <em>Thanks for the tip, 94 taurus owner!</em><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/screen-captures-from-transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen-trailer/low/">Screen Captures from Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen trailer</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/screen-captures-from-transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen-trailer/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/000_tf2trailer_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/screen-captures-from-transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen-trailer/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/001_tf2trailer_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/screen-captures-from-transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen-trailer/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/002_tf2trailer_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/screen-captures-from-transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen-trailer/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/003_tf2trailer_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/screen-captures-from-transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen-trailer/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/004_tf2trailer_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/01/video-transformers-revenge-of-the-fallen-trailer/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIDEO - <em>Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen</em> trailer released ahead of Super Bowl</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/01/video-transformers-revenge-of-the-fallen-trailer/">VIDEO - <em>Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen</em> trailer released ahead of Super Bowl</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sun, 01 Feb 2009 14:45:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for image gallery of robots from Transformers: The Game</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />As we get closer to the June 26th release of <em>Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen</em>, we can expect that more and more bits will leak out regarding the various plot lines and, more importantly for Autoblog, the robots and their alt-mode vehicles. Such is the case today with new images and a few details regarding <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-the-game-teasers/1326213/">Ironhide</a>, the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/20/chevy-trax-concept-joins-beat-on-i-tf2-i-set/">Chevy Beat and Trax "Twins"</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-the-game-teasers/1326214/">Megatron</a>, who may or may not make a return appearance in the sequel. <br /><br />After looking at the pics, which are from the website for Activision's <em>Transformers: The Game</em> (it's since been taken down), we're a bit worried <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-the-game-teasers/1326216/">the Twins</a> that we expect to transform into the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/20/chevy-trax-concept-joins-beat-on-i-tf2-i-set/">Chevy Beat and Trax</a> will take on a Jar Jar-like role in ROTF, but we remain hopeful after our early misgivings regarding the first film were (mostly, some, not at all?) unfounded. Megatron is sporting a different look too, with what some believe are tank treads on his legs. Want more? A trailer for the upcoming movie is scheduled for the Super Bowl this Sunday. <em>Thanks for the tip, 94 Taurus owner</em>!<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-the-game-teasers/low/">Transformers: The Game teasers</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-the-game-teasers/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/tf2thetwinsrobots_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-the-game-teasers/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/tf2gameironhide1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-the-game-teasers/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/tf2gametwins_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-the-game-teasers/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/tf2gamemegatron1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://transformerslive.blogspot.com/2009/01/ironhide-twins-and-megatron-robot.html">Transformers Live Action Movie Blog</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/30/robots-taking-over-ironhide-twins-and-megatron-revealed/">Robots taking over: Ironhide, Twins and Megatron revealed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 30 Jan 2009 18:54:00 EST. There is an early video taken from the first day of filming which features a few of the things that we're expecting to see front and center in this <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/transformers/">movie</a>: cars, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/12/transformers-sequel-roundup-buell-based-fembot-sr-71-and-audi/">motorcycles</a> and explosions. While the video is pretty short and doesn't reveal all that much, it still has us psyched about the movie and we will surely continue to watch as more filming documentaries are released.<br /><br />We've pasted the YouTube version after the break, but you might want to check it out on <a href="http://instoresnow.walmart.com/enhancedrendercontent_ektid50686.aspx">Walmart's site</a> for a clearer version. You'll need the following code: <em>AllSpark62609.</em> There is one more video from Industrial Light and Magic. It's called <em>Creating Transformers</em> and it details what it takes to animate a Transforming robot on-screen with live actors through some of the best scenes from the first movie. Yeah, we're officially excited.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://instoresnow.walmart.com/enhancedrendercontent_ektid50686.aspx">Walmart</a> via <a href="http://transformers.moviechronicles.com/2008-09/official-transformers-2-videos-at-walmart/">Transformers.MovieChronicle</a> via <a href="http://jalopnik.com/5045543/official-transformers-2-behind+the+scenes-video-shows-off-audi-r8">Jalopnik</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/05/new-video-shows-some-of-the-first-transformers-2-action/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>New video shows some of the first Transformers 2 action</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/05/new-video-shows-some-of-the-first-transformers-2-action/">New video shows some of the first Transformers 2 action</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 05 Sep 2008 08:58:00 EST. For those of you living under a rock, the Corvette Centennial Concept is both a tribute to General Motors' 100-year history and a budding young actor on the Hollywood stage with a bit part in <em>Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen</em>. It is not, we repeat not, a production car, a concept intended to hint at the future design direction of the Corvette or any such thing, at least as far as we know. Being a flight of fancy concept, however, doesn't take away from its inherent coolness. The view from the rear is particularly mind blowing as you can see the split rear window, incredibly sculpted rear fenders and nuevo Sting Ray badge. We're not sure when the actual car will be revealed, but GM is celebrating its 100-year anniversary this month. Then again, the official debut might also coincide with the release of the Transformers sequel in 2009. We'll have to wait and see.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://jalopnik.com/5045017/corvette-centennial-concept-more-details-photos-on-new-transformers-movie-car-star">Jalopnik</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/03/new-shots-of-corvette-centennial-concept-surface/">New shots of Corvette Centennial Concept surface</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 03 Sep 2008 17:26:00 EST. But after seeing these pics, it's obvious what the movie is really missing: a Nissan GT-R. Seriously, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/23/in-the-autoblog-garage-2009-nissan-gt-r/">take a good look</a> at the GT-R that we recently drove -- it's just begging for some sort of crazy robot-transforming goodness. At least toymaker <a href="http://www.fantofan.jp/news/event/toyshow2008/report.htm">Takara-Tomy sees</a> in Godzilla what seems so obvious to us, as the Japanese company has worked up a new series of Transformer toys for a new series called "Alternity." Included in the series is the Nissan GT-R, of course. <br /><br />Considering the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/10/video-gm-releases-corvette-zr1s-7-26-4-ring-attack/">off-screen battle</a> that the Team Corvette has waged with the new hotness from Nissan, isn't the movie just begging for an epic, to-the-death fight scene?<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/tomy-gt-r-transformer/low/">Tomy GT-R Transformer</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/tomy-gt-r-transformer/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/cce6905e573578305b2fe263b97ecd3b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/tomy-gt-r-transformer/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/silver_gtr_transformed_2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/tomy-gt-r-transformer/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/red_gtr_transformer_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/tomy-gt-r-transformer/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/silver_gtr_transformer_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/tomy-gt-r-transformer/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/silver_gtr_transformed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2008/08/2009-nissan-gt-r-transformers-prototype.html">Carscoop</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/06/transformer-toys-take-on-nissan-gt-r/">Transformer toys take on Nissan GT-R</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 06 Aug 2008 10:01:00 EST. The GM love fest continues with new cast members like the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/20/chevy-trax-concept-joins-beat-on-i-tf2-i-set/">Chevy Beat and Trax</a> siblings, a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/16/best-shot-yet-of-the-transformers-2-mystery-vette/">mystery Corvette</a> and even the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/08/chevy-volt-to-make-an-appearance-in-transformers-sequel/">Chevy Volt</a>. With all of these new additions, along with what appears to be the entire cast from the first edition, keeping up is proving a bit difficult. With that in mind, those of you who don't mind viewing a few spoilers before actually seeing the flick, check out the ongoing and recently updated <a href="http://www.filmgrenade.com/2008/07/17/exclusive-transformers-2-characters-guide/">character guide</a> over at FiLM Grenade.<br /><br />Still can't get enough Transformers action? Check out some <a href="http://timflattery.com/transformers/popup.html">conceptual art</a> done by Tim Flattery. Though these particular drawings were made for the first film, the characters didn't make it into the movie. Some sources are claiming that we could see them appear in the upcoming sequel. <em>Thanks for the tips, 04volk and 94 Taurus Owner</em>!<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.filmgrenade.com/2008/07/17/exclusive-transformers-2-characters-guide/">FiLM Grenade</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/20/spoiler-alert-film-grenade-runs-down-all-the-known-transformers/">Spoiler Alert! Obviously, that's a rhetorical as GM is making it out to be the second coming of the horseless carriage. The money being invested into the latest battery technology and the sophisticated platform which carries it proves that the General is placing massive wager on plug-in electric cars. And you can bet that it will be hyping the Hell out of them too. We already <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/07/with-crisis-looming-gm-may-unveil-volt-for-100th-anniversary/">reported</a> on the fact that the Volt will be a centerpiece of General Motor's upcoming Centennial celebration, and now we hear that the production Volt could join GM's other upcoming gas-saver, the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/09/chevy-beat-in-transformers-2/">Chevy Beat</a>, by making an appearance in the highly anticipated Transformers sequel. <br /><br />Die-hard Camaro fans have been anxiously awaiting its formal introduction since it strutted its stuff in concept form in the first installment of Transformers. Thankfully for Volt aficionados, along with just about anyone else looking to save a few bucks on their fuel bills, we shouldn't need to wait nearly as long after its big-screen debut for a shot at driving off the showroom floor in a shiny new electric car, assuming the Volt actually arrives on schedule for its 2010 launch.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/businessNews/idUSN0741637620080707?sp=true">Reuters</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/08/chevy-volt-to-make-an-appearance-in-transformers-sequel/">Chevy Volt to make an appearance in Transformers sequel?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 08 Jul 2008 15:58:00 EST. We've heard that the character known as Arcee was considered for the initial film but was discarded so as not to confuse the audience with multiple gendered robots. If the rendering seen above is any indication, though, we'd imagine that Arcee's pinky-purple coloring would get that point across right away. There are two female riders listed on a leaked Call Sheet for the upcoming movie, and it appears that they are to be riding the oddly-colored Buell in the film.<br /><br />Also revealed in the leak is information that leads us to believe that a certain Decepticon may make an appearance as an SR-71, along with what could either be the shapely Audi R8 or the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/search/?q=transformers&amp;sort=date">mystery car</a> we showed you yesterday. If the German supercar did show up, it would end the all-GM lovefest and be rather interesting to see morph on-screen, as well. Consider our interest piqued, as if we already weren't.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.comicbookmovie.com/news/articles/4651.asp">Comic Book Movie</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/12/transformers-sequel-roundup-buell-based-fembot-sr-71-and-audi/">Transformers sequel roundup: Buell-based fembot, SR-71 and Audi R8</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 12 Jun 2008 09:59:00 EST. With the film grossing over $700 million worldwide (and a big DVD release on the way that will shovel more money into the coffers), a <em>Transformers 2</em> was a foregone conclusion. And now, thanks to <em>LA Times</em> scribe Claudia Eller, we know that Summer 2009 is when it's set to hit screens. Both Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay are signed on, according to the article. <br /><br />Those of you who loved/hated the wall-to-wall making-of coverage while the first film was in production should prepare for more of the same in 2008. After all, the <em>TF </em>sequel should include new robots and new cars for us to gab about. Maybe the second time around, GM will even have some on-screen company from other carmakers, too.<br /><br />[Source: LA Times via <a href="http://www.michaelbay.com/blog/files/latimes-tf2.html">MichaelBay.com</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/09/22/save-the-date-transformers-2-set-for-summer-2009/">Save the date: Transformers 2 set for summer 2009</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 22 Sep 2007 19:02:00 EST.
