Toyota's newest European market hybrid is now being launched and has an official price tag in the UK. The Auris hybrid will be priced starting at £18,950 ($27,000 USD at current exchange rates) for the T4 model with the T Spirit running £20,700 ($29,600 USD). Toyota has just released more details on its new Europe-only Auris HSD model. The Corolla-based Auris will be the first Toyota hybrid model to be assembled in Europe starting this spring. On the EU drive cycle it has scored a very impressive 61.9 miles per gallon (U.S.) with CO2 emissions of just 89 grams per kilometer. Toyota still hasn't said exactly which powertrain the Auris is using, but since its consumption and emissions numbers match the corresponding figures for the Prius on the same te
Toyota is reportedly preparing to produce a hybrid version of its Auris for the European market at its plant in the UK. If it happens, production is intended in to start in about 2012. The Auris is a compact hatchback that is related to the Corolla. The new Lexus HS250h shares some under-structure and suspension componentry with the Auris. As much as we love the new Mazdaspeed3 and pray that we might find one in our garage soon, we know that for much of the world this 263-hp mini monster just isn't very practical. But knowing that the turbo terror is out there can make even the most devoted diesel fanboys want a little more than the 108-hp oilburner Mazda offers at the moment. Well, there
If you enjoy tempting yourself with diesels that are available in Europe and Japan but not the rest of the world, then feast on Toyota's Auris hatchback, a replacement for the Corolla. The Auris, already available in Japan and coming to Europe in February 2007, is a three- or five-door car with five different engine types that all meet Euro IV emissions standards (two petrol engines, the 1.4 VVT-i and 1.6 Dual VVT-i, and three diesels, 1.4, 2.0 and 2.2 D-4D. The 2.0 liter D-4D 130 engine is the
Nihon Car managed to get its hands on some pics of a Sportivo version of Toyota's new Auris, developed by TRD. We showed you how Europeans just got their first view of the new Toyota Auris only a few days ago, and already we have what looks like a version that could possibly challenge the MAZDASPEED3 or the Golf GTI in the hot hatch segment. Not so fast though. Literally. This TRD product takes care of sprucing up the exterior of the Auris with a sporty bodykit, but the engine is stock, for now.
