<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/toyota/">Toyota</a> isn't saying much about the refreshed 2010 Auris right now, waiting for the Geneva unboxing, but here are a couple of photos to get you excited. It looks like there will be little nips and tucks all around, such as new fog light enclosures and lower front grille profile. Standard runners will get six engine choices, and the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/17/frankfurt-2009-toyota-auris-hsd-full-hybrid-concept-needs-a-sho/">Auris HSD Hybrid</a> will arrive for those who insist on going green. It will go on sale this Spring. A short press release is after the jump, and a coupe of high-res images await your eyes below.<br />

<br />
And now for your viewing pleasure, we bring you these live shots of the Toyota Auris HSD Full Hybrid Concept (seriously, could Toyota have come up with a longer name?). Technically, the vehicle shown in our image gallery below is listed as a concept car, but every indication is that it's not all that different than what will be rolling out of Burnaston factory in England sometime during the second half of 2010.<br />
<br />
We wouldn't necessarily count on the dash-mounted solar panels that feature trays to recharge your electronics - though, how cool would that be? - but the rooftop cells may make it into production to help keep the cabin cool on sunny days as a similar system already is optional on the 2010 Prius. In any case, Toyota's 1.8-liter four cylinder and Hybrid Synergy Drive ought to ensure stellar fuel economy and carbon emissions of below 100 g/km - both important considerations across the pond where gas is especially pricey and taxes are high.<br />
<br />
Hit the jump to reread the press release and refresh your memory on all the little concept-appropriate details.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><small>Toyota Auris HSD Full Hybrid concept - Click above for high-res image gallery</small></strong></em></div>
<br /> We've already received a <a href="http://green.autoblog.com/2009/09/11/frankfurt-preview-toyota-auris-hsd-concept-leaks-ahead-of-debut/">sneak peek</a> at some early images of the Toyota Auris HSD concept, but Toyota was woefully tight-lipped about disclosing on any actual details at that time. No longer, as the Japanese automaker has just dropped all the pertinents and a bunch of new images of its upcoming hybrid ahead of the car's official debut at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/frankfurt-auto-show/">Frankfurt Motor Show</a>.<br /> <br /> As we noted, there are solar panels installed on the Auris HSD's roof that Toyota says are a further development of the solar-powered ventilation system which debuted on the 2010 Prius. Additional solar panels on the car's dashboard develop enough juice to recharge mobile phones and portable electronics using built-in charging trays.<br /> <br /> As expected, the Auris HSD is powered by a 1.8-liter four cylinder engine mated to Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive technology as used in the Prius. Toyota expects the run to 60 mph to take about 10 seconds and carbon emissions to be below 100 grams per kilometer. LED lights join a slew of aerodynamic tweaks that reportedly drop the car's drag coefficient to .28 round out the exterior features unique to the concept.<br /> <br /> Inside, blue Gaucholino leather joins a pearl white console to offer a unique showcar appearance. We're not sure how many of these touches will make it into production (which is scheduled to begin next year at Toyota's Burnaston factory in England with sales scheduled to start during the second half of 2010), but we'd like to see the mobile chargers make the leap. Click past the break for the official press release and be sure to check out our updated gallery below.<br /> <br /> <br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/toyota-auris-hsd-full-hybrid-concept-2">Toyota Auris HSD Full Hybrid concept</a></strong></p><a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/toyota-auris-hsd-full-hybrid-concept-2/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/green.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/toyota-auris-hsd-large-8_thumbnail.jpg" alt="toyota-auris-hsd-large-8" title="toyota-auris-hsd-large-8" /></a><a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/toyota-auris-hsd-full-hybrid-concept-2/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/green.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/toyota-auris-hsd-large-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="toyota-auris-hsd-large-2" title="toyota-auris-hsd-large-2" /></a><a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/toyota-auris-hsd-full-hybrid-concept-2/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/green.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/toyota-auris-hsd-large-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="toyota-auris-hsd-large-3" title="toyota-auris-hsd-large-3" /></a><a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/toyota-auris-hsd-full-hybrid-concept-2/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/green.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/toyota-auris-hsd-large-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="toyota-auris-hsd-large-4" title="toyota-auris-hsd-large-4" /></a><a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/toyota-auris-hsd-full-hybrid-concept-2/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/green.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/toyota-auris-hsd-large-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="toyota-auris-hsd-large-1" title="toyota-auris-hsd-large-1" /></a></div><br /> [Source: Toyota]<br /><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/11/frankfurt-preview-toyota-unleashes-the-goods-on-auris-hsd-conce/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Frankfurt Preview: Toyota unleashes the goods on its Auris HSD Concept</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/11/frankfurt-preview-toyota-unleashes-the-goods-on-auris-hsd-conce/">Frankfurt Preview: Toyota unleashes the goods on its Auris HSD Concept</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 11 Sep 2009 17:29:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Lexus LF-Ch concept - Click above for high-res image gallery</small></strong></em></div>
<br /> With just a few weeks left before the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/frankfurt-auto-show/">Frankfurt Motor Show</a> kicks off in high gear, Lexus has decided its high time to let loose a single teaser image of its <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/24/report-lexus-hatch-coming-to-u-s-in-2012/">hotly anticipated hybrid hatchback concept</a>. The C-Segment model carries the LF-Ch designation and not the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/31/lexus-trademarks-ct-200h-ct-300h-and-ct-400h-for-entry-level-eu/">recently trademarked CT nameplate</a> as first thought, making us wonder if there's something else up the automaker's corporate sleeve in the near future.<br /> <br /> "Think BMW 1 Series, but hybrid." That's how Lexus describes the LF-Ch, and you could easily add the Audi A3 and Volvo C30 to that list of competitors. Underhood will be some form of Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive, though the Japanese automaker has yet to release any actual powertrain details beyond that. Expect a more detailed explanation of the car's finer points in the run up to Frankfurt.<br /> <br /> Across the showroom floor in Toyota's display will be the Auris HSD concept - which Toyota says is the first application of its hybrid technology in a mainstream model... other than the Prius, we presume - along with a plug-in version of its third-generation 2010 Prius and two separate concepts based on the diminutive iQ. Click past the break for the official press release and see the whole shebang in our gallery below.<br /> <br /> <br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/frankfurt-2009-lexus-and-toyota-preview">Frankfurt 2009: Lexus and Toyota preview</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/frankfurt-2009-lexus-and-toyota-preview/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/auris_hsd_full_hybrid_concept_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/frankfurt-2009-lexus-and-toyota-preview/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/prius_plug-in_hybrid_concept_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/frankfurt-2009-lexus-and-toyota-preview/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/iq_for_sports_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/frankfurt-2009-lexus-and-toyota-preview/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/iq_collection_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/frankfurt-2009-lexus-and-toyota-preview/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/lexus-lfch-large_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/01/frankfurt-preview-lexus-lf-ch-joins-toyota-auris-hybrid-plug-i/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Frankfurt Preview: Lexus LF-Ch joins Toyota Auris Hybrid, plug-in Prius and two iQ concepts</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/01/frankfurt-preview-lexus-lf-ch-joins-toyota-auris-hybrid-plug-i/">Frankfurt Preview: Lexus LF-Ch joins Toyota Auris Hybrid, plug-in Prius and two iQ concepts</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 01 Sep 2009 11:25:00 EST. The base Mazda3 is a much better option for most, and even the diesel version makes more sense for a lot of customers, Europeans in particular. But knowing that the turbo terror is out there can make even the most devoted diesel fanboys want a little more than the 108-hp oilburner Mazda offers at the moment. Well, there is some good news to report on that front. <br /><br />Mazda is apparently readying a 143-hp version of the diesel 3, to be dubbed D Sport when it shows up in European dealerships next Spring. With the additional power and Mazda's slick six-speed shifter, 0-60 sprints should drop by almost 3 seconds (8.5 versus 11.3) and the car's top end should go up to 130 mph (a 15 mph gain). This comes at just the right time, as Mazda will see new competition from a 175-hp Renaultsport M&eacute;gane and a 180-hp version of the new Toyota Auris. Although down on power a bit still, the 55 mpg this thing promises will likely best the rivals by a good margin.<br /><br />[Source: AutoExpress]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/12/15/mazda3-d-sport-adds-diesel-to-hot-hatch/">Mazda3 D Sport adds diesel to hot hatch</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 15 Dec 2006 13:01:00 EST. We showed you how Europeans just got their first view of <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/10/23/europeans-gets-first-look-at-toyota-auris/">the new Toyota Auris</a> only a few days ago, and already we have what looks like a version that could possibly challenge the MAZDASPEED3 or the Golf GTI in the hot hatch segment. Not so fast though. Literally. This TRD product takes care of sprucing up the exterior of the Auris with a sporty bodykit, but the engine is stock, for now. A complete spring kit, an antiroll bar, 17" rims and exhaust ARE part of the package, however.<br /><br />As we told you recently, the Auris was just <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/09/28/paris-motor-show-toyota-auris-space-concept/">unveiled as a concept</a> only a few weeks ago at the Paris Motor Show. The production version of this C-segment hatch was unveiled in Europe earlier this week. Available as a three- or five-door hatchback, the Auris will offer a choice of five engines, two gas and three diesel. The gas versions include a 1.4 VVT-i (97 HP) and 1.6 Dual VVT-i (124 HP), while the diesels are a 1.4 D-4D (90 HP), 2.4 D-4D (126 HP) and 2.2 D-4D Clean Power (177 HP). The top oil-burner should push the Auris from 0 to 62 mph in 8.1 seconds. Lucky Europeans can shift their Auris with their choice of a 6-speed manual transmission or a MultiMode automatic transmission with paddle shifters on select models. <br /><br />Rear shot after the jump.<br /><br />[Source: Nihon Car]<br /><br /><a href="http://www.nihoncarandbike.com/en/news-361-Auris+Sportivo+Version+by+TRD.html"><br /></a><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/10/27/trd-begins-touching-up-toyota-auris-with-sportivo-version/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>TRD begins touching up Toyota Auris with Sportivo Version</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/10/27/trd-begins-touching-up-toyota-auris-with-sportivo-version/">TRD begins touching up Toyota Auris with Sportivo Version</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 27 Oct 2006 11:44:00 EST.
