While his stunts may not be lawful or even sane, he continues to find new territory in which to get his thrills. After being arrested in England and New Zealand, he has finally taken his action off the streets and onto the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/15/top-secrets-v12-supra-heading-to-nardo-for-top-speed-run/">Nardo Ring test track in Italy</a>. Reportedly, the twin turbo V12 Top Secret Supra, driven by Smokey, achieved a top speed of 222 mph (358 km/h) at Nardo. While certainly a mind-numbing velocity, it falls just a tad short of the 248 mph (400 km/h) goal.<br /><br />The Top Secret Supra project is intended to present the Supra as the kind of supercar some feel Toyota <em>should </em>be selling. Its V12 powerplant is sourced from a Toyota Century (a Japanese market luxury sedan), and extra power beyond its stock 276 horses, many airflow aids have been added. These range from custom plenums and piping to dual HKS GT2540 turbochargers. All in all, the engine's output has been tuned somewhere north of 1,000 hp. The <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/07/24/two-mean-mtm-tt-bimoto-hits-244mph-looks-good-doing-it/">MTM Bimoto TT</a> comes to mind, as does <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/11/17/ac-schnitzer-gp3-10-natural-gas-powered-3-series-hits-318-km-h/">AC Schnitzer's GP3.10 3-series</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/11/30/official-fastest-lambo-ever-edo-competition-hits-214-mph-with-l/">Edo Competition's Lamborghini LP640</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/12/19/9ff-gt9-inches-closer-to-nardo-test/">9ff's insane GT9</a>. Another contender has been added to the list and it's just as impressive as the rest.<br /><br />Top Secret has been making the show rounds with its twin-turbo'd V12 Supra for the past year, but it's finally putting its money where its mouth is and going for a top speed of 400 km/h (248 mph) later this year in Italy. Breaching 200 km/h hasn't been an issue since the boosted 6.0-liter V12 is supposedly pushing out over 1,000 hp.<br /><br />You can read up on Kazuhiko "Smoky" Nagata's golden boy <a href="http://www.superstreetonline.com/featuredvehicles/130_0704_top_secret_v12_twin_turbo_toyota_supra/index.html">here</a> and check a Japanese-language video of the Supra after the jump.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://kultivate.wordpress.com/2008/02/15/top-secrets-nardo-challenge/">Kulitivate</a>, Photo by Bulletproof Automotive<span style="font-style: italic;" />]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/15/top-secrets-v12-supra-heading-to-nardo-for-top-speed-run/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Top Secret's V12 Supra heading to Nardo for top speed run</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/15/top-secrets-v12-supra-heading-to-nardo-for-top-speed-run/">Top Secret's V12 Supra heading to Nardo for top speed run</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 15 Feb 2008 18:57:00 EST. Unfortunately, the Tokyo Auto Salon runs right up against our coverage of the North American International Auto Show, so we're stuck covering the event from our couch and hotel rooms. When will they learn?<br /><br /><a href="http://www.zerotohundred.com/newforums/features/200931-top-secret-s-2008-nissan-gtr-a-visit-to-the-garage-behind-it.html"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" align="right" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/zerotoundredgtr.jpg" alt="" /></a>Regardless, through the power of the Web, we're able to get a sneak peak as to what some of the top tuners in Japan will be doing with the Nissan GT-R in the coming months. Amuse brought out its own GT-R to a Time Attack event at Tsukuba sporting a new rear wing, carbon-fiber front splitter, revised exhaust and a new pair of seats. We're sure there's more, but we don't have the details yet (check out <a href="http://www.auto-otaku.com/">Auto Otaku</a> for pics). The car was tested by Mr. Tanabe around Tsukuba and even the old man himself clocked a lap time of 1:01.332. Color us impressed.<br /><br />Top Secret, the high-powered dominators of the Tokyo tuning scene, will have <a href="http://www.zerotohundred.com/newforums/features/200931-top-secret-s-2008-nissan-gtr-a-visit-to-the-garage-behind-it.html">another GT-R</a> (see right) gracing its show stand, this one fitted with new wheels, a revised front splitter and God knows what else.<br /><br />We're getting excited at the prospects and will be sure to keep our eye out for anything and everything of interest while battling the throngs in Detroit.<br /><br />[Sources: <a href="http://www.zerotohundred.com/newforums/features/200931-top-secret-s-2008-nissan-gtr-a-visit-to-the-garage-behind-it.html">zerotohundred.com</a>, Auto Otaku via <a href="http://kultivate.wordpress.com/2008/01/09/amuse-r35-gt-r/">Kultivate</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/10/spy-shots-tokyo-motor-show-edition-amuse-and-top-secret-taking/">Spy Shots, Tokyo Motor Show edition: Amuse and Top Secret taking on the GT-R</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 10 Jan 2008 11:02:00 EST.
