Tony Stewart made his return to the NASCAR Sprint Cup over the weekend at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. However, the race probably wasn't as triumphant as he had hoped. Stewart started in a strong 12th place but eventually had to retire midway through the event. It gives him just one last chance to make it into the Chase for the Sprint Cup and compete for a chance to win his fourth series championship. You may think that NASCAR is exclusively an American sport, but it has quite a following in Canada, too. How do we know that? Well, aside from knowing a few fans who count themselves among our neighbors to the north, it seems that a project has been green-lighted to build a NASCAR-minded speedway in Fort Erie, Ontario.
After suffering a concussion in the massive end-of-race 25-car pileup at Talladega last weekend, Dale Earnhardt Jr. will miss the next two races, and perhaps the rest of the NASCAR season. That crash marked Earnhardt's second concussion of the season; the first happened after a failed tire test in Kansas on August 29.
It's called "The Chase", and on the surface it doesn't exactly have anything to do with cars. In reality, we're not so sure it has a lot to do with anything other than serving as promotional material for Philippe Gamer and the Space Patrol Crew, but that's fine. It's a fun video with four animated girls and a car chase scene unlike any other we've ever seen.
