One way to ensure that your brand-new Porsche 911 (a.k.a. 991) won't look like the one in your neighbor's driveway is to give TechArt a call. The famed German tuner has rolled out its version of the latest Carrera and Carrera S at the Geneva Motor Show and trust us, it won't be mistaken for anything from the factory in Stuttgart.

Up front, TechArt has fitted its own unique two-part spoiler with integrated splitter while more aggressive side skirts adorn the rocker panels. The rear has a new lower diffuser, wrapped around the TechArt exhaust, and a large fixed rear wing (complete with an integrated third brake light). Look more closely to notice the subtle trim panels on the exterior mirrors and front headlights. The wheels are lightweight forged 20- and 21-inch alloys with matching paint on their rims.

Inside the heavily modified cabin are even more drastic enhancements (let's say TechArt has gone over the top). Don't let the aluminum pedals be a distraction as you inspect the black Alcantara and high-grade leather covering nearly every square inch. Flirting with gaudy, the dark upholstery is contrasted by vehicle-color-coordinated stitching and painted trim splashed throughout. However, the icing on the cake is an insanely thick TechArt three-spoke sports steering wheel.

We donned our darkest shades and shot a full live gallery on the Geneva floor. Plus, you can also check out the detailed press release below the fold and a handful of official pictures below.
Continue reading 2012 TechArt Porsche 911 is visually dazzling, both inside and out

2012 TechArt Porsche 911 is visually dazzling, both inside and out originally appeared on Autoblog on Wed, 07 Mar 2012 08:30:00 EST.
German Porsche tuning specialist Techart has released new renderings of some upcoming products including the GTStreet RS that will debut at this week's Frankfurt Motor Show, as well as their new individualization program for the 2012 Porsche 911 that will make its first appearance at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

First up is the GTStreet RS, based on the potent Porsche 911 GT2 RS. Techart has fitted Porsche's flagship 911 with a multitude of modifications, ranging from aerodynamic upgrades to a new power kit that pushes the twin-turbo flat-six to around 720 horsepower and 664 lb-ft torque. Techart says that the GTStreet RS is capable of reaching 62 mph from a standing start in just 3.3 seconds on its way to a top speed of 219 mph.

Still several months away is Techart's individualization program for the new Porsche 911. Porsche is only debuting the new 911 for the first time in Frankfurt this week, and Techart says that they will be the first to have an aftermarket program for the car. Various body components, interior upgrades and wheels in 20- and 21-inch sizes will be available. A 911 featuring Techart upgrades will be on display at the company's booth at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Follow the jump for full details on both the Techart GTStreet RS and the Techart 911.
Continue reading Techart previews new wares ahead of Frankfurt, Geneva

Techart previews new wares ahead of Frankfurt, Geneva originally appeared on Autoblog on Mon, 12 Sep 2011 11:30:00 EST. This time, the subject of its attention is the new-for-2007 Porsche 911 Turbo. No engine modifications are ready yet, so those looking to see what kind of obscene power TechArt is able to draw out of the Turbo's mill will have to wait patiently and make do with the 480+ horsepower it makes in stock form.

Just because the engine is stock, howevver, doesn't mean the car has to look that way. TechArt is certainly up to the task in that department. New spoilers fore and aft, side skirts, and a selection of TechArt exhausts are now available to give your new Turbo enhanced looks and sounds. Also available are the tuner's many suspension enhancements, headlined by their VarioPlus coilover suspension designed to work with PASM on cars that are so equipped.

Finally, TechArt makes some of the nicest aftermarket wheels in the business, and there are plenty to choose from for Porsche's newest bad boy.

All of the visual mods look great. We can't wait to see what TechArt comes up with when the engine tuning is complete..

(More hi res pics, press release after the jump)

[Source: TechArt]

Continue reading Tuner Tuesdays: TechArt Porsche 911 Turbo

Tuner Tuesdays: TechArt Porsche 911 Turbo originally appeared on Autoblog on Tue, 05 Sep 2006 17:29:00 EST.
