The large front-wheel-drive sedan previewed the styling for the new Teana (above, dark) and more luxurious Teana XV (above, light) that Nissan and its Chinese joint-venture partner Dongfeng debuted at the Auto China show in Beijing. The connection between concept and production vehicle is strong here, with the windswept front fasica, large greenhouse, and kink at the bottom of the C-pillar coming over intact. The flush grille, LED headlamps and suicide doors, however, did not.<br /><br />The Teana will have a strong link to the western world thanks to the platform on which it rides, which is also shared with the Altima, Maxima and Murano. Power is provided by Nissan's award-winning 3.5L VQ V6 engine, which is mated to a CVT transmission for the Chinese. It appears that a bevy of 2.0 and 2.5L four-cylinder powerplants will also be available when the car goes on sale in late Summer. <br /><br />Make no mistake, the Teana is a large, luxurious front-wheel-drive sedan, just like the current Maxima here in the U.S. It even features such niceties as a BOSE 5.1-channel surround sound system and Nissan's panoramic sunroof in the XV version.<br />Check out more pics of the new Nissan Teana in the gallery below.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-teana-and-teana-xv/low/">Nissan Teana and Teana XV</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-teana-and-teana-xv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/00_nissanteana_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-teana-and-teana-xv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/01_nissanteana_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-teana-and-teana-xv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/02_nissanteana_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-teana-and-teana-xv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/03_nissanteana_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-teana-and-teana-xv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/04_nissanteana_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-intima-concept/low/">Nissan Intima concept</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-intima-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/aaa_nissan_intima_tokyo012_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-intima-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/aaa_nissan_intima_tokyo011_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-intima-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/aaa_nissan_intima_tokyo010_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-intima-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/aaa_nissan_intima_tokyo009_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-intima-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/aaa_nissan_intima_tokyo008_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><span style="" onmouseover="_tipon(this)" onmouseout="_tipoff()"><em><strong>All photos Copyright (C)2008 Bin Chen / Weblogs, Inc. <br /><br /></strong></em></span>[Source: <a href="http://cn.autoblog.com/2008/04/21/2008-beijing-new-teana-and-teana-xv/">Autoblog Chinese</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/21/beijing-2008-nissan-unveils-new-teana-and-teana-xv/">Beijing 2008: Nissan unveils new Teana and Teana XV</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 21 Apr 2008 15:28:00 EST. The transition from concept to production has been uncharacteristically kind to the Teana, with the tightly drawn headlamps, plummeting C-pillar and elongated tail lamps surviving, but the suicide doors and 22nd century interior must have been scrapped due to feasibility issues. We'll get our <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/03/nissan-teases-production-intima-ahead-of-beijing-show/">first official taste</a> of the Teana when it's <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/31/beijing-08-preview-nissan-intima-to-make-production-debut/">finally revealed on April 20th</a> at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/BeijingMotorShow/">Beijing Motor Show</a>.<br /><br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-teana-brochure-scans/low/">Nissan Teana Brochure Scans</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-teana-brochure-scans/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/nsnt-ten0_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-teana-brochure-scans/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/nsnt-ten1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-teana-brochure-scans/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/nsnt-ten2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-teana-brochure-scans/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/nsnt-ten3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-teana-brochure-scans/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/nsnt-ten4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-intima-concept/low/">Nissan Intima concept</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-intima-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/aaa_nissan_intima_tokyo012_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-intima-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/aaa_nissan_intima_tokyo011_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-intima-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/aaa_nissan_intima_tokyo010_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-intima-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/aaa_nissan_intima_tokyo009_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-intima-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/aaa_nissan_intima_tokyo008_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /> [Source: <a href="http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2008/04/2009-nissan-intima-teana-leaked.html">Carscoop</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/07/nissan-strike-intima-strike-teana-brochure-leaked-out/">Nissan <strike>Intima</strike> Teana brochure leaked out</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 07 Apr 2008 14:58:00 EST. This time it's a Nissan Teana, a large sedan sold by the Japanese automaker in its home market and abroad, but not in the U.S. So what's it doing in a Barnes &amp; Noble parking lot in Brighton, MI? Your guess is as good as ours, but this <a href="http://spyphotos.autoblog.com/2005/07/25/2007-nissan-teana-could-take-on-toyota-avalon/1">isn't the first time</a> a right-hand drive Teana has been seen in the U.S. <br /><br />Many have posited that Nissan is preparing an answer to the Toyota Avalon, though most auto pundits agree that Nissan already has several smart responses for the Avalon in the Altima, Maxima and their rear-wheel drive sibling, the Infiniti G35. The Maxima is already the odd one out in Nissan's lineup, so adding the Teana would only serve to give Nissan's customers a third choice in the front-wheel drive, mid-size segment and further fragment the brand's four-door sedan sales. In our estimation the Maxima needs to go, which would instantly make more cap space for something the likes of the Teana in Nissan's lineup. There is certainly a market for large front-wheel drive sedans above a brand's mid-size offering, as not only the Avalon, but also the Ford Five-Hundred and Chevy Impala have proven. The Maxima, however, is too close to the Altima to fill that role for Nissan. The Teana, however, is demonstrably larger than the Altima, and with Buick-like suspension tuning and a powerful VQ V6 underhood could hopefully attract a different audience. <br /><br />[Source: Winding Road]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/11/07/spy-shots-nissan-teana-in-michigan/">Spy Shots: Nissan Teana in Michigan</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 07 Nov 2006 17:32:00 EST. <p>Nissan's latest take on a home market minivan, the Presage, has just gone on sale. Current owners venturing out to Japanese dealers to have a&nbsp;peek at the new model will likely immediately notice the revamped, Murano/Infiniti M-like face, which sees a familiar horizontally-straked chrome grill arc around to connect the more aggressive headlamps. The lower fascia (particularly the model seen here with auxiliary driving lamps), is similarly unusually outspoken for a minivan.</p>
<p>The interior hasn't been completely ignored, either. Subtle alterations include "separate, constantly lit instrument panel gauges, illuminated AT-shift position indicators and silver-colored paneling on the center cluster," among other things. In other words, those searching for a revolution would do well to look elsewhere... we're talking (very) measured improvements. Still, there's the availability of that <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2005/06/23/nissans-view-from-above/">trick blind-spot camera</a> we first told you about back in June of last year.</p>
<p>The eight-passenger Presage continues to roll about on its FF L-class underpinnings it shares with the Teana, a chassis it has had since 2003. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder and 3.5-liter six-cylinder make up the powertrain choices.</p>
<p>Given the U.S. marketplace success of Nissan models bearing similar styling cues (the aformentioned Murano and Infiniti M35/45), it would be interesting to see if the model would generate bigger numbers than the company's slow-selling, love/hate Quest. Sadly, there's no word that the American market will ever see the Presage.</p>
