Chevrolet is tweaking the hood and supercharger cover on its 650-horsepower Corvette Z06 after a small number of owners experienced overheating issues.
There is still no official confirmation from Chevrolet about an eight-speed automatic transmission making its way into the C7 Corvette Stingray, but the Corvette's chief engineer Tadge Juechter seemed to focus on when – not if – the new gearbox would be ready. In a conversation with Auto Guide, Juechter suggested that we might not see the new transmission until 2016 as other Corvette projects continued to be developed.
There is no doubt that the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 was one of the hottest vehicles to debut this week at the Detroit Auto Show, but Autoblog West Coast Editor Michael Harley takes it one step further by calling it the "highest-performing vehicle the North American automakers have ever made." When an Australian news outlet asked General Motors CEO Dan Akerson whether the new Stingray would get an RHD version, he answered "yes" and "soon."
