Since the summer, natural gas supporter T. Boone Pickens (pictured) has been in an energy fight with the Koch brothers. Think of it as a battle of the conservative billionaires to see who can get more money from the federal government.

T. Boone Pickens may not know exactly what's up with V-Vehicles, a company that he's invested in that wants to make high-mileage vehicles, but he does claim to know some things. During his opening keynote speech at the AFVI Expo in Las Vegas, for example, the long-time oilman and big natural gas promoter said that he thinks God put tremendous amounts of the fossil fuel under the United States for us to use. Specifically, he said:

T. Boone Pickens has spent $60 million in the last year promoting the "Pickens Plan," an idea for a giant wind farm in Texas. Now, the billionaire oil man is saying he will postpone the project for at lesat a couple of years. The first hints that things weren't going as planned came last November, when PIckens couldn't get a loan to finance the farm. The second U.S. presidential candidate debate is tonight, and it's likely that energy policy will come up in some fashion. Central casting's best-named oil man, T. Boone Pickens, wants to make sure the debate starts a bigger discussion on energy use in America and so he is hosting an "online rally" tonight during and following the debate. Barack Obama and John McCain are scheduled to being a 9 p.m. EST, and that's when the rally starts as well.
