<div style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><small>Lamborghini Murci&eacute;lago LP640 by Premier4509 - Click above for high-res image</small></strong></em></div>
<br /> The end of Murci&eacute;lago is upon us. The steel-framed supercar from Sant'Agata has been on the market since 2001. Since then, Lamborghini has produced over 3,000 of them. But only 350 are <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/08/pics-aplenty-lamborghini-murcielago-lp670-4-superveloce/">LP670-4 SuperVeloce</a> spec, and you can bet the other 2,650+ owners are jealous. However, while the SV's 670-horsepower engine remains the exclusive purview of the most extreme Lambo to date, one aftermarket firm has risen up to the challenge of giving existing "base" Murci&eacute;lago owners the coveted look of the SuperVeloce.<br /> <br /> You may remember Premier4509 for producing body kits for such exotics as the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/21/premier4509-launches-kit-for-outgoing-lamborghini-gallardo/">Lamborghini Gallardo</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/01/premier4509-announces-bentley-continental-gt-aero-body-kit/">Bentley Continental GT </a>and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/25/premier4509-limited-edition-body-kit-for-aston-martin-v8-vantage/">Aston Martin V8 Vantage</a>. Japanese tuner fanboys and gamers may sooner recognize its parent company, VeilSide. But the Japanese outfit has now released a simple visual mod for the Murci&eacute;lago to give it that SV look. Essentially all it is - for the time being at least - is a new bumper, blacked out on bottom and protruding like a cowcatcher. Coupled with a big rear wing and blacked-out quarter-panel intakes and mirrors, though, and it's a dead ringer SV. <br /> <br /> Premier4509 says they've got an accompanying rear bumper in the works as well, and will only produce 300 examples of the body kit, so there's another couple thousand Murci owners still left out in the cold. And while it may not have the power advantage, even an "ordinary" Murci&eacute;lago won't stick around long enough for anyone to notice.<br /> <br /> [Source: <a href="http://www.premier4509.com/">Premier4509</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/10/08/premier4509-gives-your-lamborghini-murcielago-the-sv-look/">Premier4509 gives your Lamborghini Murciélago the SV look</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 08 Oct 2009 18:00:00 EST. <div align="center"><strong><em><small>SV 9 Competizione - Click above for high-res image gallery</small><br /> </em></strong></div>
<br /> Reclothing Corvettes with Italian coachwork is a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/03/unique-pininfarina-corvette-headed-to-scottsdale/">time-honored</a> tradition; one that sadly lapsed for years in between the age of classics and the modern era. But in an industry where old designs and old badges are resurrected with increasing regularity, this is one practice we're glad to see come back. Following such recent examples as the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/07/02/retrovette-castagna-aznom-unveiled/">Castagna Aznom</a> and Bertone Mantide comes the SV 9 Competizione, a re-skinned C6 Corvette with a touch of Italian flair.<br /> <br /> Imagine a cross between an Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione - from which this creation clearly draws its inspiration (as well as its name) - and a contemporary Corvette and you're well on your way towards summing up the SV 9 Competizione's design. And while we have some reservations over the front-end styling with its protruding snout, overall, the design strikes an intriguing balance between American muscle and Italian style. And when you consider the price of many contemporary coachbuilt customs, the $99,995 sticker price - including the donor Vette - doesn't seem all that outlandish. <br /> <br /> Along with the carbon fiber bodywork, SV has tweaked the interior, fitted a new intake and exhaust for a 14-horsepower boost to 450 and fitted a new set of wheels with Pirelli Pzero Rosso tires, giving the SV 9 Competizione a claimed 0-60 time of four seconds flat, a 12-second quarter-mile sprint, a braking distance from 60 of 107 feet and 1.03g of lateral grip. Not too shabby by any standard. And with configurations based on 25 exterior colors, five interior trims and four wheel choices, SV figures there's no reason any two of the 1,000 units to which production is limited will ever need to turn out the same. We wouldn't mind seeing one up close ourselves; the first example is set to debut in San Francisco this weekend ahead of its unveiling at the local Concorso Italiano next month, but in the meantime you can check out the computer renderings in the gallery below.<br /> <br /> <br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sv-9-competizione-corvette/low/">SV 9 Competizione Corvette</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sv-9-competizione-corvette/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/072109_14_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sv-9-competizione-corvette/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/072109_2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sv-9-competizione-corvette/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/072109_4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sv-9-competizione-corvette/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/072109_1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sv-9-competizione-corvette/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/072109_3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /> [Source: <a href="http://www.svmotorcompany.com/">SV</a> via <a href="http://www.corvetteblogger.com/index.cfm/2009/7/21/First-look-CorvetteBased-SV-9-Competizione-Ready-to-Impress">Corvette Blogger</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/21/italian-american-pride-corvette-based-sv-9-competizione/">Italian-American Pride: Corvette-based SV 9 Competizione</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 21 Jul 2009 19:58:00 EST. <br />Some automakers run their racing programs in-house, and some choose to out-source. While its principal rival falls under the former, Lamborghini opts for the latter, giving its blessing to German motorsport garage Reiter Engineering to campaign race-prepped Raging Bulls in European sportscar series. Earlier this month we brought you the first details and images on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/06/reiter-engineering-launches-new-gallardo-lp560-gt2/">Reiter's latest racecar, a Gallardo LP560-4 prepped for the GT2 class</a>. With that out of the way, Reiter is now reportedly turning its attention to its next project for the top-tier GT1 class. It's basis: the spankin' new <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/02/officially-official-lamborghini-murcielago-lp-670-4-superveloce/">Murcielago SV</a>.<br /><br />The ultimate version of the Lamborghini supercar was just <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/04/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murcielago-lp-670-4-superveloce/">revealed at the Geneva Auto Show</a> last month, but the boffins at Reiter Engineering aren't about to waste any time. No details yet, but if the rear-drive-only LP560 GT2 is any indication, we can expect Reiter to axe the Murci's all-wheel-drive system to save weight as well. The GT1-spec Murcielago SV is being developed for the 2010 season, when the FIA GT Championship will be split into the GT2 European Championship and the GT1 World Championship. While the aforementioned LP560 will take on the former, the competition Superveloce will take on the likes of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/07/fia-gt1-nissan-gt-r-revealed-in-full-with-600-hp-v8/">Nismo GT-R</a>, Ford GT and two or three more anticipated models, each supplying a maximum of two teams with two cars each, in the latter that will include races in Argentina, Australia, South Africa and the UAE in addition to the European events. <br /><br />Reiter's been known to turn the racing versions of Lamborghini's roadcars back into street machinery, with examples like the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/26/one-more-for-the-road-reiter-engineering-builds-gallardo-gt3-fo/">Gallardo GT3 Strada</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/15/reiter-engineering-offers-street-legal-version-of-murcielago-r-g/">Murcielago R-GT Strada</a> in its repertoire, but we couldn't imagine them taking the street-bound SV to even more extreme grounds... could we?<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/">Geneva 2009: Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/03-lp-670-4-superveloce_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/01-lp-670-4-superveloce_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/02-lp-670-4-superveloce_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/04-lp-670-4-superveloce_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/05-lp-670-4-superveloce_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/74362">Autosport</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/14/reiter-engineering-developing-gt1-spec-lamborghini-murcielago-sv/">Reiter Engineering developing GT1-spec Lamborghini Murcielago SV</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 14 Apr 2009 10:01:00 EST. <br />Typical of Lamborghini special editions, the only thing that the Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce lacks is restraint. Its revised 6.5L V12 puts out 670 hp and 487 lb-ft of torque through its all-wheel-drive system, allowing the SV to rocket to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 212 mph. The Murcie's been lightened by 220 pounds and features Reventon-inspired front and rear fascias, along with a hexagonal engine cover and an "Aeropack Wing" to provide an additional bit of down-force when shooting passed the double century. Johnson (the erstwhile Jalop, friend of Autoblog, and all-around great guy) as we looked over the cars that still remained parked in the GPNY lot. The front row contained both a Gallardo Roadster and a spanking new LP560-4, while row two was home to a silver Diablo SV. We were going over the SV, commenting on how it's aged rather well, when Davey noted something that inspired this particular post.<br /><br />"Look at that," he said, pointing at the all-lowercase, italicized, block-letter <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-diablo-sv/1132684/">'<em>lamborghini</em>'</a> badge on the Diablo's rear deck. "That would look so much better on the new cars." The new-school Lambos, as you're all aware, wear the cursive <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-lamborghini-gallardo-lp560-4/998229/">'Lamborghini'</a> on their tails. Davey and I walked over to the LP560, eyeballed it, and returned to the SV. I have to say, I'm with him on this one. Those lowercase block letters are like Countach-flavored exoticar comfort food, and they'd look perfect on the angular modern Lambos. Then again, maybe the happy medium would be to split the difference and go with <a href="http://www.motortrend.com/classic/features/c12_0603_1966_lamborghini_400gt_monza/photo_09.html">this classic</a>. <br /><br />In any case, let's put it to a vote:<br /><br /><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/02/sunday-poll-lambo-logo-showdown/#poll21794">View Poll</a></p><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-diablo-sv/low/">Lamborghini Diablo SV</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-diablo-sv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/diablosv_g419invi_hi04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-diablo-sv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/diablosv_g419invi_hi03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-diablo-sv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/diablosv_g419invi_hi06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-diablo-sv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/diablosv_g419invi_hi05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-diablo-sv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/diablosv_g419invi_hi02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-lamborghini-gallardo-lp560-4/low/">First Drive: 2009 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-lamborghini-gallardo-lp560-4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/lp5404_fd_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-lamborghini-gallardo-lp560-4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/lp5404_fd_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-lamborghini-gallardo-lp560-4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/lp5404_fd_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-lamborghini-gallardo-lp560-4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/lp5404_fd_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-lamborghini-gallardo-lp560-4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/lp5404_fd_05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/02/sunday-poll-lambo-logo-showdown/">Sunday Poll: Lambo logo showdown</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sun, 02 Nov 2008 19:30:00 EST. Autocar has spied what's believed to be the Lamborghini Murcielago SV, a lightweight version of the Italian automaker's top model that will be sending its additional ponies to the rear wheels alone. <br /><br />Based off the current range-topping LP640, the SV will putting out around 680 hp from its mid-mounted V12 and will tip the scales under 3,500 pounds. The weight savings will come from the abandonment of the front differential and drive shafts that would normally also power the front wheels, along with nixing the <strike>ICE</strike> <em>stereo</em> and the system that raises and lowers the rear spoiler. Naturally, plenty of carbon fiber is part of the equation, including the doors, smaller rear wing and other assorted parts.<br /><br />There's no word on when the Murcielago SV will debut, but we've got a five-spot on the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/Paris-Motor-Show/">Paris Motor Show</a> later this year.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle/Lamborghini-Murci%C3%A9lago/232171/#">Autocar</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/10/spy-shots-lamborghini-working-on-rwd-murcielago-sv/">Spy Shots: Lamborghini working on RWD Murcielago SV?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 10 Apr 2008 15:56:00 EST. Were they to drop a new <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/10/07/no-retro-for-lambo/">Miura</a>, revived <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/11/18/lamborghini-ceo-shoots-down-lm002-revival-rumors/">LM002</a>, or some other new model, they'd likely reach that target without any problem. Lambo Capo Rupert Stadler isn't in favor of spending the considerable development dollars it would take to bring a new model to market. Before coming out with a new car, it's more prudent for Lamborghini to sell its capacity of <a href="http://autos.aol.com/cars-Lamborghini-Murcielago-2007/overview">Murcielagos</a> and <a href="http://autos.aol.com/cars-Lamborghini-Gallardo-2007/overview">Gallardos</a> first. <br /><br />So, if you're not coming out with a new car, but you want to move more units, what's an automaker to do? We somehow doubt that <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/search/?q=lp640&amp;searchsubmit=">LP640s</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/search/?q=reventon&amp;searchsubmit=">Reventons</a> will be showing up in rental fleets, and there's no such thing as incentives when it comes to supercars, so that strategy's out, too. Extra-special editions of the already special Italian cars, like the Murcielago SV and Superleggera versions of both vehicles should entice more buyers to pony up. If that doesn't work, they could always have a <a href="http://www.bankrate.com/brm/green/auto/basics3-4a.asp?caret=24">"push, pull or tow"</a> event. <br /><br /><em>Follow the read link for a Google-translated version of the original story.<br /><br /></em>[Source: Caradisiac]<br /><br /><a href="http://news.caradisiac.com/Lamborghini-objectif-3000-ventes-mais-sans-nouveau-modele-372"><br /></a><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/12/04/lamborghini-wants-to-sell-20-more-cars-without-creating-a-third/">Lamborghini wants to sell 20% more cars without creating a third model</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 04 Dec 2007 09:33:00 EST. It was immediately called out as the next evolution of the LP640, a superleggera sibling for the the Gallardo. Then Lamborghini said no, it wasn't -- it was just a mule with unpainted doors. Lamborghini President Stephan Winklemann even dismissed the idea, saying "The LP640 is wild enough." Whether or not he believed what he was saying, the new reality is this: there is no such thing as wild enough. And according to Car magazine, that wilder LP640 will probably be called "Superveloce" -- the sorely missed SV moniker not heard in these parts in far too long.</p>
<p>The SV will lose 100 kg, the same amount shed by the lightweight Gallardo, ending up with 409 bhp per ton. It will also get shorter gearing that keeps it near the 8,000 rpm mark when driven in anger. Even though it will remain an all-wheel-driver, the 0-60 time should drop to 3.0 seconds. Car also says that that walk-the-plank rear wing is supposedly provided by Boeing. </p>
<p>The SV is expected to hit the runway at Frankfurt this September. Oh, and it could be joined by a Gallardo SV, an even harder baby-Lambo meant to take the fight to the F430 Stradale. The good news from Sant' Agata just keeps on coming.</p>
