<p>Remember the Suzuki Samurai, the lightweight 4x4 much maligned for being just as likely to topple over as any other Jeep of its day? Well, it's alive and well and being sold throughout the world as the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_Jimny">Jimny</a>. The X-Head just might be its future and we can only hope that Suzuki's notoriously tight bean counters do not savage the functional yet oh so cool interior too badly. Who knows, they may even bring it Stateside. Yeah, right.</p>
<p>Check out our original post on the Suzuki X-Head <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/09/28/tokyo-2007-preview-suzuki-x-head/">here</a> and view live pics from last week's Tokyo Motor Show in the gallery below.</p>

We hear the 4x4's a dash over 12 feet long and is powered by a 1372cc engine, but that's about it. For the rest, it seems we'll have to wait. The new batch of photos we've obtained shows us that the plucky pickup can carry at least one dirt bike in back and that its bedsides flip down to reveal additional storage compartments. The matte charcoal tailgate matches the grillework, which receives the same finish. Inside, the "X" theme is carried through in the yellow portions of the seats (which do <em>not </em>look comfortable) and the shape of the harnesses. The letter "X" is so prevalent, we half expect to see this thing in the motor pool at <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-Mansion">Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters</a>. We'll bring you full coverage from Tokyo later in the month.<br /><br />[Source: Suzuki]<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/suzuki-x-head-concept/low/">Suzuki X-HEAD Concept</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/suzuki-x-head-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/11/07tokyo_xhead-0_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/suzuki-x-head-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/11/07tokyo_xhead-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/suzuki-x-head-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/11/07tokyo_xhead-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/suzuki-x-head-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/11/07tokyo_xhead-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/suzuki-x-head-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/11/07tokyo_xhead-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/03/tokyo-2007-preview-more-suzuki-x-head-pics/">Tokyo 2007 Preview: More Suzuki X-HEAD pics!</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 03 Oct 2007 16:28:00 EST. Well, get ready to do it now. Behold the Suzuki X-HEAD, one of several new concept vehicles the automaker will be showing off at next month's Tokyo Motor Show. Looking like it's ready to punch a HUMMER in the mouth and audition for a part in <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/09/22/save-the-date-transformers-2-set-for-summer-2009/"><span style="font-style: italic;">Transformers 2</span></a>, the mega-trick-looking X-HEAD (dig the "X" tread pattern on the rubber) is all about flexibility (we think). If we're reading the Google-translated press release correctly, the "X" in its name signifies the unknown -- as in unknown or unlimited number of uses. Figure it could be everything from a camper, to a pickup, to a rescue vehicle and beyond. This, from a company whose bread-and-butter is kei cars? A round of applause is in order for this Eastern take on our childhood Tonka fantasies. We'll be sure to bring you more on this one from the show floor next month.<br /><br style="font-weight: bold;" /><span style="font-weight: bold;">UPDATE: </span>English-language press release added<br /><br />[Source: Suzuki]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/09/28/tokyo-2007-preview-suzuki-x-head/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Tokyo 2007 Preview: Suzuki X-HEAD</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/09/28/tokyo-2007-preview-suzuki-x-head/">Tokyo 2007 Preview: Suzuki X-HEAD</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 28 Sep 2007 21:50:00 EST.
