What's insanely quick, all-electric, and only has two wheels? The Alta Redshift MX.
Last year, Luc1 Motorsport rolled out a nine-minute-long video as a way to thank the team's sponsors for their support over the 2011 season. Now the crew is back with another supermoto infomercial, and while the 2012 clip may not be as intense as last year's, the video is no less entertaining. While our French is about as rusty some of the vehicles in our stable, the basic plot seems to follow Sylvain Bidart as he frantically races to catch a plane to make a race.
Mini is gearing up for the Olympics in a big way. The company has released a short film featuring a gaggle of former gold medalists, including Daley Thompson, James Cracknell, Jonathan Edwards and Matthew Pinsent. Thompson plays the ringleader of an elite driving squad sent to retrieve a set of gold medals pilfered by none other than supermodel Jodie Kidd. In the film, Kidd sets to tearing through London on a supermoto, pursued by three London 2012 Edition Mini Cooper models. The scenes feature
We've been desperately trying to put our finger on what makes the idea of a supermoto so attractive, and we may have finally figured it out. The bikes are perfect all-purpose machines, equally at home dismantling stretches of mountain tarmac as they are bashing through the woods.
Since revealing the RedShift SM electric supermoto last August, the BRD boys have been keeping busy going about the business of commercializing a great idea. Building and presenting a ground-breaking prototype is one thing. Working out all the bugs and putting in neat rows the ducks necessary to build and sell a fully developed product is quite another. Still, much progress has been made and the company is about to unveil its 2013 RedShift MX – an off-road configuration of the RedShift pla
We've seen a swell in RoToR camera set ups in bike videos lately, and we have to say the trick makes for some pretty entertaining viewing. Take the clip you'll see after the break that was worked up by Supermotard Denmark, for example. The video tracks one rider as he finishes up a practice day. The crew crafted their own homemade version of the RoToR setup we know and love, strapped it to a rider's head and came out with some awesome footage. There's plenty of peg-scraping glory as the rider wo
It's easy to forget the motivation behind Ken Block's ridiculous gymkhana video series. At the heart of the tire smoking action, Block is simply paying the piper. All of those drool-inducing slow motion shots of the stunt driver's old Subaru WRX STI and new Ford Fiesta feature a smattering of sponsor stickers beating their way into our psyches. Block has even gone so far as to call one of his gymkhana flicks an infomercial.
Remember when sex was safe and motorcycles were dangerous? Longtime two-wheel fanatics may recall the stern warnings from our concerned fathers regarding the single most dangerous part on your very first motorcycle. No, not the nut behind the bars - the burning-hot exhaust pipe. Pop-rocking, motorcycle-riding, all-around bad girl Pink apparently didn't get the memo. The singer suffered the dreaded "pipe burn" during a recent ride aboard hubby and freestyle motocross legend Carey Hart's bike.
