Green Automotive Company (GAC) continued to diversify its electric vehicle portfolio through investment in electric truck manufacturer Viridian Motor Corporation. GAC will bring its EV engineering expertise to the electric truckmaker, and Viridian will be a support partner on the East Coast for GAC's Newport Coachworks electric shuttle buses.
Ford has just delivered the first four of a fleet of eight E-450 shuttle buses powered by hydrogen in Orlando Florida. The shuttles will be used to move passengers around the Orlando Airport and the Orlando Convention Center. The buses use Ford's 6.8L V-10 with an added supercharger and fuel system modified to use hydrogen gas.
Ford's advanced hydrogen internal combustion engine (HICE) powered shuttle bus program delivered three vehicles in early December to Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Canada to begin an important pilot program. Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide, Inc. are providing the hydrogen fuel injectors used in the HICE E450s which will be included in the Senate shuttle bus fleet for evaluation.
