Handing your pride and joy over to a service tech is a nerve fraying experience. While the vast majority of service personnel out there are well trained, courteous and quick about their work, there are bad apples in every bushel, and you never know exactly who's getting their hands on your keys. Audi is looking to put some of that worry aside with a new program that the company is calling - brace yourself - Audi Cam.

Think of it as lifecasting for your mechanic. When you bring your vehicle in to the shop for repairs, you're connected to a technician via a two-way radio and a headset video camera. If there's any sort of problem, the tech can contact you over the radio and vice-versa. Even better, owners get to sit in the comfy waiting room and watch the action from screens there. The company is hoping that the move will give owners some added peace of mind by giving them a peek into the inner workings of the dealership shop.

For now, it appears that Audi Cam will only be available in Europe. But who knows? It might just make the jump across The Pond and into a dealership near you soon.

As some of us are pretty sharp with a wrench, we loathe taking our cars elsewhere for repairs. Most of the time, we want to watch the guy doing the work, and that's usually not possible so we end up chain-drinking burnt coffee in the waiting room. HiQ, a new automotive service chain in the UK, is revamping its brand and has decided to allow customers to get in on the action. To prove their new concept, cooked up by branding wizards Fitch, HiQ has opened a new facility in Nottingham. The design is clean and more retail chic than a greasy-fingernailed muffler shop. Our favorite feature, by far, is the glass wall that allows you to stare down the monkey lad as he applies several hundred pound-feet of torque to your wheel lugs with an impact wrench.

We were sad to see our time with the ROUSH 427R come to an end, but all the crying, whining, and pouting that we engaged in after turning over the keys paid off when ROUSH Performance Products offered to give us a tour of its massive facility.

Actually, to be precise, the sprawling complex that Fisher Body once called home is only one of the 18 ROUSH buildings in the Detroit area. Clearly, we're talking about a lot more than a couple of guys turning wrenches in a pole barn, so click through and take a trip with us to see what the folks at ROUSH are involved in on a day-to-day basis.
