<br />
Please excuse us while we take a little trip down <a href="http://www.tmz.com/">TMZ</a> lane. Word on the web is we now know who will be replacing <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/12/video-transformers-2-clip-shows-megan-fox-tussling-with-wheelie/">Megan Fox</a> in the next scintillating Transformers flick. Shia Labeouf will be locking lips with none other than Rosie Huntington-Whitley. Who is that, exactly? Good question. Huntington-Whiteley has spent the majority of her days prancing down a runway in her unmentionables as a Victoria Secret model. The best part? The 23 year-old model-turned actress doesn't have a drop of acting experience. The jokes write themselves.<br />
<br />
Fox was reportedly <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/05/20/report-transformers-3-will-not-have-megan-fox/">kicked out of the story line</a> to give the main character a new love interest, though rumor was that the actress had also spent her off time berating director Michael Bay for any number of perceived character flaws. Our guess is Bay got tired of hearing the insults and told Fox to take a hike. Now back to your regularly scheduled content.<br />

<br />
For all the talk of heavyweight star power, in all but the most extreme cases, it is directors that have the most power on the set, not the celebrities. That's apparently how it happens that Michael Bay has removed Megan Fox from <em>Transformers 3</em>, who is said to have insulted Bay at almost every chance she got, calling him Hitler, Napoleon, a "nightmare to work for," and "hopelessly awkward." Actually, that last comment she meant to be a compliment.<br />
<br />
The official line is that Fox was cut because "giving Shia a new love interest makes more sense for the story." If you buy that one of the most popular features of the franchise needed to be replaced - or that Sam Witwicky was looking for a hotter, more badass accomplice, well, we've got a few other things we'd like to sell you. We'll wait to find out who Michael Bay's got in mind to replace her, and who knows - casting hopefuls might be busy <a href="http://thesuperficial.com/2009/07/michael_bay_has_secret_audtion.php">learning how to wash his Ferrari</a> as we speak...<br />

<div style="text-align: center;"><small><span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;">Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen - click above for high-res gallery</span></small></div>
<br /> We may have found this summer's blockbuster, <em>Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen</em> to be <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/26/transformers-revenge-of-the-fallen-great-action-even-worse-sto/">heavy on the sizzle and lean on the meat</a>, but that doesn't mean we've written off the series - after all, it's hard to dismiss excellent CG work, the childhood toys of our youth... to say nothing of that siren Megan Fox. <br /> <br /> Thankfully, director Michael Bay informs us via his official website that the next installment is already in the works, and it's been assigned a release date - July 1 of 2011. That's a long time from now, granted, but Bay intimates in his blog post that Megan Fox has already signed on for the TF3 project, and hopefully Shia LaBeouf will make the scene too. Bay is already meeting with Hasbro to discuss new characters, so we'd expect a few new transforming automobiles to show up as well. <br /> <br /> Here's hoping that they have enough time to craft a script that lives up to the special effects. <br /> <br /> <br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen">Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/tf2screenshots000_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/tf2screenshots001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/tf2screenshots002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/tf2screenshots003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/tf2screenshots004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /> [Source: <a href="http://www.michaelbay.com/newsblog/files/a2bd79bb4c222b807e27707aaf1497e6-570.html">MichaelBay.com</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/10/02/mark-your-calendars-michael-bay-says-i-transformers-3-i-comi/">Mark Your Calendars: Michael Bay says <i>Transformers 3</i> coming... on July 1, 2011</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 02 Oct 2009 17:29:00 EST. Got a minute? Literally, just a minute, 'cause you're going to want to see this. And then you're going to want to know where you can get one for Halloween.<br /> <br /> Crafting a suit to look like a Transformer is one thing, but this video, apparently taken at a Chevrolet dealership in Mexico, shows a guy in a Bumblebee suit that actually transforms into a Camaro! Okay, so it's not a real Camaro. It doesn't drive, it doesn't chase after Megan Fox or save the planet from evil robots from outer space. For that, you need Michael Bay and a whole lotta CGI. But short of that, this is about as freakin' awesome as it gets. Follow <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/24/video-mexican-chevy-dealers-transforming-bumblebee-suit-redefi/">the jump</a> to watch the video. <em>Thanks for the tip, Pham!</em><br /> <br /> [Source: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yG8CUHGb1Y4">YouTube</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/24/video-mexican-chevy-dealers-transforming-bumblebee-suit-redefi/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIDEO: Mexican Chevy dealer's transforming Bumblebee suit has us jonesin' for Halloween</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/24/video-mexican-chevy-dealers-transforming-bumblebee-suit-redefi/">VIDEO: Mexican Chevy dealer's transforming Bumblebee suit has us jonesin' for Halloween</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 24 Aug 2009 16:58:00 EST. <br />Yesterday, not long after <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/08/video-chevrolet-targets-gay-demographic-with-new-camaro-marketi/">we posted a story about a gay-centered General Motors marketing video</a> for Chevrolet's new Camaro, the video was mysteriously pulled from YouTube. As it turns out, GM itself has copped to the disappearing act, as it reportedly ordered the popular video hosting site to yank the footage.<br /><br />According to a <em>USA Today </em>article, GM spokesman Dave Barthmuss felt that the video - which featured a pair of so-called 'go go boys in Camaro-branded underwear washing a new 2010 model - was "not appropriate and not in good taste." The footage was filmed as part of a <em>Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen</em> gay day promotion at a Hollywood movie theater.<br /><br />Despite pulling the video, GM has reportedly launched a more concerted campaign to broaden the scope of its marketing efforts as it applies to the Camaro, with more overt efforts to target gays, bisexuals and the transgendered. It is not immediately clear what (if any) effect pulling the footage will have on the rest of the automaker's p.r. efforts.<br /><br />[Sources: <a href="http://content.usatoday.com/communities/driveon/post/2009/07/68493948/1">USA Today</a>; <a href="http://www.mlive.com/auto/index.ssf/2009/07/gm_orders_youtube_to_remove_ca.html">Mlive</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/09/followup-gm-orders-youtube-to-remove-tasteless-gay-camaro-pro/">FOLLOWUP: GM orders YouTube to remove "tasteless" gay Camaro promo video?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 09 Jul 2009 14:32:00 EST. <br />We played with Transformers as kids and have a considerable appetite for anything automotive, making the second installment of the Transformers film franchise a must watch in an otherwise uninspiring summer blockbuster season. While we didn't dare hope for a compelling story line, we were pretty sure Director Michael Bay wouldn't let us down with regards to special effects. We hit the theater to see if <em>Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen</em> lived up to the considerable hype, and basically got exactly what we expected. Hit the jump to check out our brief review.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen">Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/tf2screenshots000_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/tf2screenshots001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/tf2screenshots002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/tf2screenshots003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/tf2screenshots004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/26/transformers-revenge-of-the-fallen-great-action-even-worse-sto/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em><em>Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen</em> - Better action, worse storyline</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/26/transformers-revenge-of-the-fallen-great-action-even-worse-sto/"><em>Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen</em> - Better action, worse storyline</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 26 Jun 2009 12:57:00 EST. <br />We have some good news and some bad news. First, the good news, because that's just how we roll. We've got another clip of Megan Fox.. er, <span style="font-style: italic;">Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen</span>. The bad news? It involves a "bad guy" Transformer named Wheelie that has a really cheesy New York wise-guy personality. His weaknesses appear to include a foul mouth, mousetraps and hot chicks - two out of three which being qualities that we can identify with. In any case, he gets his metallic little ass kicked by Fox.<br /><br />Most TF2 previews have looked straight-up awesome so far, but if this annoying little 'bot has anything more than a cameo in the movie, well, we're not going to be happy. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/12/video-transformers-2-clip-shows-megan-fox-tussling-with-wheelie/">Hit the jump</a> to see video of Fantastic Ms. Fox taking a blowtorch to mini Megatron.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://cinematoday.jp/page/A0002228">Cinema Today</a> via <a href="http://jalopnik.com/5288343/transformers-2-megan-fox-makes-wheelie-her-little-bitch">Jalopnik</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/12/video-transformers-2-clip-shows-megan-fox-tussling-with-wheelie/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIDEO: <i>Transformers 2</i> clip shows Megan Fox tussling with Wheelie</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/12/video-transformers-2-clip-shows-megan-fox-tussling-with-wheelie/">VIDEO: <i>Transformers 2</i> clip shows Megan Fox tussling with Wheelie</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 12 Jun 2009 19:28:00 EST. <br />The idea behind building a stunning performance car like the new Chevy Camaro is as much about selling the car itself as it is about casting a bright light on the rest of the automaker's range. The muscle car in the window may bring you into the dealership, but you're more likely to walk out with something more practical. Say, a Cruze, for example.<br /><br />That's what happened with one customer in China, where the price of an imported Camaro is, according to one report at least, the equivalent of a whopping $200,000. Having apparently geeked out like the rest of us at Michael Bay's blockbuster hit <em>Transformers</em>, the customer looks to have fallen in love with Bumblebee like that little punk Shia LeBeouf with Megan Fox (who really should be with a certain blogger whose name starts with an "N" and ends with an "oah"), but...where were we? Oh yeah, the Chinese fan gave his Chevy Cruze the full Bumblebee treatment, which looks to have involved a bit more than just plastering on some racing stripes. Check it out in the gallery below.<br /><br /><br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevrolet-cruze-with-bumblebee-treatment">Chevrolet Cruze with Bumblebee treatment</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevrolet-cruze-with-bumblebee-treatment/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/cruzetocamero13-frontpage_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevrolet-cruze-with-bumblebee-treatment/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/cruzetocamero16_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevrolet-cruze-with-bumblebee-treatment/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/cruzetocamero_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevrolet-cruze-with-bumblebee-treatment/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/cruzetocamero15_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevrolet-cruze-with-bumblebee-treatment/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/cruzetocamero1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.chinacartimes.com/2009/06/04/want-a-camaro-cant-afford-one-convert-your-cruze/">China Car Times</a> I Images: <a href="http://club.sohu.com/">Club.Sohu.com</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/04/chinese-market-chevrolet-cruze-transformed-into-camaro-aping-bab/">Chinese-market Chevrolet Cruze transformed into Camaro-aping baby Bumblebee</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 04 Jun 2009 11:29:00 EST. If you haven't found them on TV because you're busily skipping over commercials thanks to your DVR, you can check out the bevy of explosions, shape-shifting cars, planes, and helicopters <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/21/video-trio-of-new-transformers-2-rotf-trailers-released/">after the jump</a>.<br /><br />[Source: Vimeo via <a href="http://www.michaelbay.com/">MichaelBay.com</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/21/video-trio-of-new-transformers-2-rotf-trailers-released/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIDEO: Trio of new Transformers 2: RotF trailers released</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/21/video-trio-of-new-transformers-2-rotf-trailers-released/">VIDEO: Trio of new Transformers 2: RotF trailers released</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 21 May 2009 12:29:00 EST. <br />When you're forced into a life-and-death situation like General Motors, a lot of tough calls have to be made - yet some are more obvious than others. In this case, The General has made it clear that it plans to slash its North American marketing spending - by some $800 million dollars.<br /><br />That's an extra $200M on top of the $600M that already GM vowed it would cut by 2010 in a disclosure it made back in December. And it isn't just things like <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/29/good-call-detroit-3-opt-out-of-super-bowl-ads/">SuperBowl commercials</a>, and print ads - vehicle incentives will also be impacted, something that will doubtlessly affect the already tough sledding that dealers are experiencing.<br /><br />Another example: <em>Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen</em>. Despite early efforts to tie Chevrolet to the Shia LaBeouf/Megan Fox Paramount sequel with efforts like the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/chicago-2009-gm-finally-rolls-out-corvette-stingray-concept/">Corvette Centennial Concept</a> and "<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/chicago-2009-new-autobots-on-display/">Jolt" Volt</a> unveiling at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/Chicago-Auto-Show/">Chicago Auto Show</a>, trade publication <em>Advertising Age</em> is reporting that GM will not spend much money to co-promote the movie. <br /><br />For the initial 2007 Transformers movie, GM is said to have spent "tens of millions" of dollars in advertising-related initiatives, but not only can the financially-strapped automaker not afford to do so, it realizes it may also not be a good idea in light of the taxpayer bailout. AdAge is quoting one insider as saying: <br /><blockquote><em>"You're not going to see any TV media that I know of. Even though you can make a case for it from a marketing standpoint, it's the kind of thing that might get you roundly criticized in light of today's climate. It's viewed as too risky, sort of like Citibank's deal with the Mets. GM can't afford to do that.<br /></em></blockquote>The message is clear: Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Jolt and Mudflap... you're on your own.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-gm-transformers-cars">Chicago 2009: GM Transformers cars LIVE</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-gm-transformers-cars/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/p1000383_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-gm-transformers-cars/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/p1000547_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-gm-transformers-cars/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/p1000503_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-gm-transformers-cars/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/p1000522_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-gm-transformers-cars/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/p1000532_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Sources: <a href="http://www.autonews.com/article/20090226/ANA02/902260298/1018">Automotive News</a>; <a href="http://adage.com/madisonandvine/article?article_id=134910">Advertising Age</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/27/snip-snip-gm-slashing-800m-from-marketing-budget-yes-even-tr/">Snip-Snip: GM slashing $800M from marketing budget (yes, even Transformers)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 27 Feb 2009 14:59:00 EST.
