Volvo just took the wraps off the C30 hatch and it's pretty much exactly like the car we've been showing you for the past several months. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Smaller than the S40, the Mazda3-based hatch puts out 218 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque with the top option turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-five. Although a little on the heavy side at 3,000 pounds, handling should be good. Sporty and fun are what this model is all about and Volvo is pinning its hopes of growing their demo

AutoWeek is reporting that Volvo's S60 may be on the chopping block as the company’s new S80 (unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show) has become significantly sportier, and the next S40 (due in 2010) will certainly grow in size. With the new S80 stretching 191 inches tip to tail and the next S40 likely coming in at around 177 inches, company officials are questioning whether there room for the S60, the current iteration of which is 180 inches long.
