We normally associate Roush Performance with the Ford Mustang, but the company's latest project involves the F-150 SVT Raptor. The tuner has teamed up with Greg Biffle, who drives for the Roush Fenway Racing in NASCAR, on the build as part of the Sherwin-Williams Planet Color All-Star Charity Challenge, pitting them against Toyota driver Clint Bowyer to see who can design the best custom truck.

The NASCAR rivals have gone in significantly separate directions, with Bowyer designing a '50s-style work truck based on the Tundra and Biffle coming up with the flashy off-roader pictured above. Roush has fitted the SVT Raptor with items like their TVS2300 supercharger system good for 525 horsepower, a performance exhaust system, custom 18-inch wheels shod with 35-inch BFGoodrich tires, TireGate tire carrier and light bars front and rear.

So what determines who built the best truck? The winner will be decided by the almighty dollar, with both trucks going to auction for charity. Bowyer's Tundra already sold at Barrett-Jackson's Orange County auction, raising $100,000 for the Emporia Community Foundation, while Biffle's SVT Raptor will look to beat that number at Barrett-Jackson's Las Vegas event in September.

You can check out the custom Roush F-150 SVT Raptor in detail in the gallery above and in a video by scrolling down, then let us know which truck you'd rather have in Comments.
Continue reading Roush, Greg Biffle build custom Ford F-150 SVT Raptor for charity [w/video]

Roush, Greg Biffle build custom Ford F-150 SVT Raptor for charity [w/video] originally appeared on Autoblog on Fri, 03 Aug 2012 18:40:00 EST.
We normally associate with Roush Performance with the Ford Mustang, as we've tested several examples over the year from the race-ready 427R Trak Pak to the current 540 horsepower RS3. The Michigan tuner is now looking to expand, though, and has recently introduced a new line of performance products aimed at another segment of the Ford product line, the F-150.

The F-150's new powertrains are the main focus of Roush's product blitz, with supercharger systems available for both the 5.0-liter and 6.2-liter V8s. Roush has also developed cold air inductions kits for the entire powertrain lineup with the exception of the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. Additionally, Roush is offering a stainless steel cat-back exhaust for most of the F-150 lineup that produces a more aggressive tone than the stock system.

You can read more about the new F-150 products from Roush in the press release after the jump, and you can get a closer glimpse at the supercharger and the exhaust system in the gallery above.
Continue reading Roush announces new performance product line for the Ford F-150

Roush announces new performance product line for the Ford F-150 originally appeared on Autoblog on Fri, 20 Jan 2012 07:58:00 EST. 2010 Roush Stage 3 Mustang - Click above for high-res image gallery

We had very few bad things to say about the 2010 Roush 427R Mustang after spending a week with the car, but we did have a few questions. First, why not use the new TVS2300 supercharger system that debuted on the P-51A Mustang, and second, why not add a billet grille like the previous model so that there wouldn't be six different lights up front? Roush has answered our questions in the form of the 2010 Stage 3 Mustang. The new stallion atop Roush's Mustang lineup gets a 540-horsepower upgrade complete with a second-generation R2300 supercharger, forged internals, high-flow fuel rails and injectors, upgraded fuel pump and a beefier clutch. The $59,945 price tag also gets you 18-inch wheels and tires, 14-inch brakes, a Roush suspension system, various interior enhancements and a Roush body kit complete with a billet grille.

If the you're the type of person that is only interested in performance and not the rest of the fluff, Roush is also offering a sleeper package called the 540RH. Along with the drivetrain and suspension upgrades, this budget Roush only includes the rear spoiler, a short-throw shifter, and a subtle stripe package. Roush claims they have already tested the car at the drag strip (with the optional Cooper RS3 tires) and came away with an 11.8 second time slip. At $46,145, the 540RH tucks in nicely under the Shelby GT500's price tag while offering similar performance. Hit the jump for full details on both cars.
After 12 years of offering parts only for Fords, ROUSH Performance will begin offering parts for GM vehicles for the first time. The first two products include the ROUSH Power Programmers for GM trucks (shown right) and Cold Air Intake Kits. Soon exhaust systems, suspension components and other parts will be offered, as well. Even the ROUSHcharger supercharger system will be made available for the 2007-2008 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups.

Though the ROUSH name has been synonomous with Ford vehicles, particularly the Mustang and F-150, the move to expand its product lineup to other manufacturers only makes sense. ROUSH has been doing engineering work for General Motors and even DaimlerChrysler for some time, so we wouldn't be surprised to find out Chrysler Group vehicles will be invited into the fold soon, too. And do we even dare speculate about the possibility of ROUSH one day offering its own version of the Camaro?

Check out the official press release from ROUSH after the jump.

[Source: ROUSH]
Continue reading Hell hath frozen over: ROUSH begins selling high-performance parts for GM vehicles

Hell hath frozen over: ROUSH begins selling high-performance parts for GM vehicles originally appeared on Autoblog on Fri, 11 May 2007 13:31:00 EST.
