And if they had, how come I didn't see it until just now? " Those questions come from our buddy, Davey G. Johnson, erstwhile Jalop, extreme Jim Rockford aficionado, and all-around finder of things awesome, like the YouTube link that followed seconds later. It's now embedded above, because some things are meant to be consumed by the masses. A Mad Max clip show set to Motörhead's "Ace of Spades"? Yeah, that qualifies. Strap yourselves in for 2 minutes and 50 seconds of appropriately-scored vehicular mayhem. Consider this your Saturday morning wake-up call. Go grab a coffee and we'll see you back here at 9, when the day's normal posting schedule begins. We've also got plenty of coverage in store from our team camped at Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale auction. Should be fun. See you again in a few.

[Source: YouTube]
VIDEO: If Mad Max had been scored by Lemmy originally appeared on Autoblog on Sat, 17 Jan 2009 08:35:00 EST.
The envelope, please ...

Best:

1981 DeLorean DMC-12, "Back to the Future"

1961 Ferrari 250 GT, "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" (for completists, that's a 250 GT California Spyder SWB, guys)

1974 Dodge Monaco, "The Blues Brothers"

1964 Aston Martin DB5, "Goldfinger"

Batmobile Tumbler, "Batman Begins"

1968 Ford Mustang GT 390, "Bullitt"

1959 Cadillac Ambulance, "Ghostbusters"

1958 Plymouth Fury, "Christine"

1973 Ford Falcon, "The Road Warrior" (pictured)

2003 Mini Cooper S, "The Italian Job"

Worst:

1983 Ford LTD Country Squire, "National Lampoon's Vacation"

1974 Dodge Tradesman, "Napoleon Dynamite"

Winnebago Chieftain, "Spaceballs"

1984 Ford Econoline, "Dumb and Dumber"

1963 Volkswagen Beetle, "Herbie: Fully Loaded"

Technical details, unique features and an explanation as to how they ranked the vehicles are at the link. Apparently, we've got more love for the Griswold's metallic pea-soup Wagonqueen Family Truckster than the folks at Cars.com. C'mon... where's your sense of humor, guys?

[Source: Cars.com]

Hollywood's best and worst movie cars... take one! originally appeared on Autoblog on Sat, 03 Jun 2006 19:08:00 EST. Every day, Givens drives from his 7.5-acre ranch inMariposa, CA to his electrical engineering job at Cisco Systems in San Jose, CA (Google Local says that it's "only" 159miles one way, but maybe Givens takes a few trips around the block at either end because he likes to drive so much). The stated reason for this is the enjoyment he receives from living in a rural area, although we're not sure how muchtime is left after his seven-hour commute. All that time is spent in a 2005 Honda Accord, which already has nearly75,000 miles on the clock after nine months of ownership.

The Federal Highway Administration says that the length of the average commute increased by about 5% from 1990 to 2000... we'rethinking that Givens himself might be solely responsible for that increase.
